And we're in a tornado watch.

Not to mention a flood watch.

This winter around here appears to be more of the same from last winter... windy and cold

Michigan is pretty much devoid of natural disasters, with the exception of the occasional tornado.

The temperature, on the other hand, goes from 0°F to 90°F+ during the course of pretty much every year, and it tends to hover around those extremes for a long time.
