Have you tried writing anything recently? I'll bet you've improved a lot since then. That poem only felt anti-climatic because it started going somewhere towards the end but decided against it. The feeling was quite frantic, and the word choices obviously were middle school. But I want to see you write something now. I bet you'll be surprised how much better you can do.
