I was actually kinda' thinking one of those Doom faces. It changes expression as its health goes down. Why not try something like that with Kirby and put it in some sort of percentage stats window.

Providing a boardx-style floor layout would be pretty neat, as would making the "comm" window more noiselike instead of a sort of twisted sine curve...
