Anyone else think that Supreme Chancellor Palpatine is getting a little big for his britches? I mean his rhetoric up to this point has been classic insincere politician nonsense. But now he somehow got that idiot Binks to propose giving him emergency powers and he's commissioning an ARMY???

OK, before you "trade federation is dangerous lol we need an army" faggots come in, just think about it. If we have a massive army, then what's the point of the Jedi Order? the Jedi Order costs MUCH less to maintain than a full army and moreover we know they will be loyal.

I mean I'm not one of those "LOL REPUBLIC STAGED THE ATTACK ON NABOO AND PALPATINE IS GOING TO DISSOLVE THE SENATE" blaster toting outer rim conspiracy nut hicks, but you've got to admit Palpatine is looking a bit authoritarian at this point.

The one good thing I can say about him is that he actually did put the bureaucrats in their place, something I admittedly didn't have high confidence he would do.
