| This is supposed to be the equivalent of second year, first semester Chinese. I say equivalent because I'm taking a fast-paced course that covers the equivalent of two years of Chinese in one year. So technically this is year 1, semester 2. What college did you go to? I'm at Georgetown University. |

So, on today's episode of Bell Are Jerks™:My family's going to be moving to a new house next week, so we had to call Bell and tell them to transfer all our services and blah blah blah. We have these two big old TVs that we didn't want to keep because they're big and heavy. One is in the living room where we all watch and one is in my stepbrother's bedroom and he's hardly ever home anyway. Haven't seen him in ages. Both of these TVs have satellite receivers. Since we won't be using those TVs anymore we told them we'd want to return those two receivers. They told us they'd send some boxes to return them in, those would arrive in 3-5 days, yada yada, and asked for the serial numbers of the units. The very second we gave them the serial numbers on the phone, the receivers stopped working, showing the "this channel is not available" message for every channel. So, they knew it'd take 3-5 days before we could receive the boxes to return the receivers in, but they couldn't wait that long to cut off their service so we could maybe still watch in the meantime. It takes who knows how long to turn it on, but to turn it off? That takes one second. Dicks. (BTW, if anyone's in Cambridge ON and wants a free TV or two...  )____________________ |
