Yes I know this is a massive bump, but I figure it'll be a relevant enough post that the bump will be overlooked and it didn't seem like I should make a new thread.
So it's been over 8 months now since the game was released. Lately I've taken it upon myself to read through the whole of this thread just to see what it was like all those months ago, wondering what was in the game, getting excited, disappointed, amazed, infatuated and plenty of other emotions.
It's also fun to note how much stuff we actually called. Someone called ~35 characters for the final roster, that ended up being the number. The guy that leaked about the Dragoon Parts ended up being 100% correct in all of his predictions. I called Ike, final smashes were called, stages guessed right. Most of all, pants were shat at updates like Sonic and Stage Builder and even Xkeeper started agreeing that this would be the best game ever.
It's basically a big trip down memory lane in a way. It's fun to see what our posting was like over a year ago and how we acted.
So now that I've gotten that out of the way, I'm wondering what everyone still thinks of Brawl. Is it still the "best game ever?" Do you at least play it from time to time? Have your mains changed over the months? Skill increase? Stuff like that?
My skill has been increasing ever so slightly because I end up playing with tournament level players at the Student Center on campus. Those fights are rather interesting and I see all sorts of characters you'd not expect to be used being used very well, like DK, Olimar, Dedede. Luigi and Snake.
Personally, I've been developing as a Samus player. I'm getting better at using her and less good at ZSS. The other fighter I've been getting much better as is Ganondorf. Surprisingly, he's become probably my #2. There's something about the sheer power that he has in him that I just love to control. Not to mention Ganonciding is a lot of fun as a shocker move.
Recently I've been trying to teach myself how to play as Snake. I'd never seriously used him before a couple weeks ago and have found that I can take to him well. Obviously, I need more time to get better as him but I'm already doing well.
So yeah, just wondering what everyone out there still thinks of Brawl. Still having fun with it guys?
One last thing I forgot. A while back a track pack with the songs that were cut from Brawl was released:

There's some pretty good music on here. The ones that I like are Ballad of the Windfish, Eight Melodies and the main Theme from MGS2 Sons of Liberty.
