That's why you save your files towards the bottom of the list.

Although, that'd make me a hypocrite, since I have one and only one file at the very top. But it's not like anyone else really plays, anyway.

Also, somewhat best strategy ever for beating 15-Minute Brawl -- enter Coward Mode™ and just fly under the stage. And things get real nice when only one alloy is goofing around the stage. ...But yeah, fun stuff, flying under a stage 70% of the time.

So, it seems that getting 100% in Subspace Emissary nets you no reward, other than the possibility of getting new trophies from the golden boxes.

With which character exactly? A few can fly but some are better than others...

I've found that Pit's the easiest one to use, since there's a smaller margin of error.

For example, say you mess up with Kirby's flight and resort to using his up special. If you screw up on that and miss the ledge, you're done for.

Pit has the least number of jumps, yet his up special pretty much guarantees you'll make it to the ledge, unless you accidentally press down during the move or use a side special.

If my brother ever accidentally overwrote my save, I wouldn't be too terribly mad. Even though I got 100%, we'd still have everything we unlocked from it, so I could just simply play through again on a harder difficulty and make slightly different choices to get the remaining video variations.

I'm gonna have to say no to Pit for this one. He may have a greater jump distance than the other characters, but it requires using a special move which, if used incorrectly, will result in a swirling bow to the death.

I recommend Jigglypuff. It's just plain jumping and it has enough sideways movement to make travel easy. This is a video I did to demonstrate Cruel Brawl, but it should work just fine for 15-Minute Brawl.

PSO for the Dreamcast had that, too; mostly so that you couldn't duplicate items.

Of course, this has no real use whatsoever. In addition, Brawl takes up 128 "blocks" (sigh) of space, while most other games take up 1.

Bleh.

This is brilliant. Now I have a way to beat cruel brawl w/o using a hammer on the challenge.

...What?

I'm pretty sure they just wanted you to actually, you know, unlock the stuff in the game rather than using/stealing someone else's savegame. It's the same motivation that makes them kill off cheat devices almost every time they release a new version of a system.

Precisely. They decided to add an unnecessary restriction to the way we use our media, despite it causing a bunch of trouble for legitimate users who simply want to keep a backup copy, transfer to a different console (hope your Wii doesn't break!), etc. It does nobody any good.
Same with Animal Crossing for GCN which IIRC wouldn't even allow you to move the save to a different memory card. There is no good reason for such a restriction.

Update for March 25

Jigglypuff

Jigglypuff has neither a long reach nor a lot of power to its attacks. On top of that, it’s not a particularly fast runner and is extremely easy to KO because of how light it is.

At a glance, Jigglypuff seems like an utterly flawed character, but the truth is that Jigglypuff has a few abilities that balance things out, like its superior midair capabilities.

On top of the ability to jump five consecutive times in the air, Jigglypuff’s midair acceleration and top speed are in a class by themselves, making Jigglypuff the ultimate midair brawler.

Wait...

Not only does Rest hit hard, but connecting with the attack will sprout a flower on the opponent’s head, causing damage to accumulate for a short while.
That's...new.

Who knows...

Sonicandtails, Kattwah, and I were talking about how jigglypuff could possible have a class of her own now. It came as a shock to me really. Apparently they're finding that she's good for something... I don't remember the details, but we could expect to see her higher on tier lists.

There's another point of interest. A bit off-topic, and admitedly a pet-peeve of mine, I'm going to present it in a way that hopefully won't offend anyone...

Why is Jigglypuff referred to on the internet as female? From what I've been able to gather, Nintendo consistantly uses the pronoun "it" when referring to Jigglypuff. Is there something I don't know about, or is this one of those cases where players came to their own conclusions?

The headgear?
Change Jigglypuff's colors in either Brawl or Melee and tell me that you could find a male wearing all of those alternate hats.

I've seen small dogs dressed in worse. Pikachu can wear goggles. Does that make it a pilot and/or swimmer?

Pokemon could either be male or female. The way it is in Brawl, one would make the conclusion that it is female due to the style of hats that it does wear, those being more feminite.

Of course Pikachu could be male or female as well.

So, I just think that the gender of those two are up to the minds of the player, really. I say it is a she, but really is it that big of a deal to worry about it?
