| Many games out there have some sort of debugging functions. Whether it's just left over text from debugging features that were removed, or full fledged menus for testing the games. Here's some articles with notable examples: Ocarina of Time: Master Quest (N64 Debug ROM) Final Fantasy VII Debug Room Pokémon Ruby: German Debug Version To start off, I've been looking into the debug menus from the Tony Hawk games on sixth gen consoles. It seems that many of them share a similar layout and options, being based on the same engine. So far I've been able to access the debug menus for Tony Hawk's American Wasteland and Underground 2 in the PS2 versions of the game. This is not my video, but here's the same debug menu as well as other unused content found in the Xbox version of THUG2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbHFKys6dqU Edit: I should mention, if you want to check out the debug menu on the NTSC version of THUG2 using PCSX2, you can create a .pnach file inside the cheats folder with the name 4F0010A7.pnach. Once this is done, paste the following lines into the file: gametitle=Tony Hawk's Underground 2In the emulator, enable cheats, and boot the game. The code will replace the Display Options menu in settings with Debug Cheats, which itself is a submenu of the full debug menu. |
