Well, got an acoustic guitar as an early birthday present, so I want to dive into that as soon as I can. Really wasn't expecting it; my parents went out food shopping and just found it, which was pretty great! I want to get into a regular speedrunning routine, instead of spending maybe a week hyping myself up for it, then never actually following through. The Galaxy in Turmoil demo is coming out middle of this year, so I'm planning on working very hard on making that as amazing as it can be. Ideally, I'll also get some form of employment this year, because DAMN, I've still got nothing going. Aaaand finally, drop a ton of weight.

  • Get a good job in my field

  • Start exersizing and losing weight

  • Get back on a normal sleep regiment

  • Create and publish a video game on Steam

  • Finish a homebrew title for the Sega Genesis

I've considered not dying to be good enough over here. But with how things are regarding election results, I'm not sure how much control I have towards this resolution.

Of course the resolution to live a little has been working pretty well so far, so why not keep going with it into the new year?

While I don't have one any one specific resolution, I've decided that my own 2017 shall be in the in the sign of courage.
That said, here is a small, non-comprehensive and non-binding list of things I'd like to accomplish in 2017:

  • Succeed at my internship project - make a good impression
  • Get my Bachelor's degree
  • Find out what it's like to actually work
  • Meet and go out with new people
  • Make a trip abroad
  • Become less principled of a person, try new things and seize opportunities

I generally find new years resolutions meaningless, so I don't bother with them.

I don't have much in the way of resolutions, just some personal goals I would like to see accomplished by year's end, including finishing my masters degree.

Plus, my friends and I had a new years eve party of our own. A nice way to kick things off, for sure.

My goal/resolution for 2017 is to finally start being more proactive in making stuff, other than software. That means primarily music as well as user content for a handful of games (maps, textures, etc.)

Of course part of that will cross over with my normal software development, in the form of my own MIDI sequencing software which I started several months ago and never really got out of the concept stage.

Ideally I'd like to get to the point where I can have something I consider "finished" on a weekly basis, whether that's something I can release to the world by itself, or a concrete part of some larger project.

I'm also going to be buying a new bike soon so I can finally resume riding around for exercise, though unfortunately I no longer live close enough to my workplace to be able to bike to and from my job.

I'm tempted to try one game a month, but I just don't think I have either the ability or drive to go ahead with it. Knowing me, I'd get half-way through planning my first game, then never getting back to it.

Here are my hobby new year's resolutions. Not all encompassing, just my main focus:

-I plan to learn a (human) language. Excited for that.
-Have a supreme interest in writing a song and using Vocaloid4 to help bring that song to reality. I can't wait to polish the song and get rolling with the vocals. Depending on the amount of time I have, I might add bells and whistles to this project too.

If I can accomplish both these goals within the year then 2017 is a success in my book.
