| Hey folks, as a huge fan of underrated video games, especially the racing ones, I discovered a few different features in two versions of one certain racing game I personally loved as a child. That game, is none other than Extreme-G for Nintendo 64, if you can tell by my current icon. While I have seen quite a few beta clips and screenshots of the racing game, I wanted to show something from its American version and its Japanese version. The following links below were recorded from the actual N64 consoles and screen-captured just for this comparison: USA Copyright Screen Extreme Contest Extreme Contest: Menu Difficulty Single Player Invalid Password Multiplayer Cup Track Selection: Without Names Customize Controls Arrow 1st-2nd-3rd Finish Paused JAP Copyright Screen Extreme Championship Extreme Championship: Menu Difficulty Single Player Password NG Multiplayer Cup Track Selection: With Names Customize Controls Arrow 1st-2nd-3rd Finish Pause ADDITIONAL NOTES 1. You get a bit more damage and less weapon (laser/excel/pulse) usage* in the JAP version. 2. Anon.r1 (or 2, 3, 4) for USA version. Player1 (or 2, 3, 4) for JAP version. 3. In JAP version, 'Battle Mode' doesn't have its own menu or selection like USA version does. Only in Cup mode for some reason. 4. Triangular Data in Bike Selection for the USA version. Rectangular Data in Bike Selection for the JAP version. 5. Tracks have names in the JAP version. The USA version doesn't, sadly. 6. JAP version has additional Japanese text. 7. The title screen, the JAP version is just a tad longer. 8. PAL version has different flags for language in 'Options'.* * = Not quite for certain yet. If I'm missing anything important for this thread or have anything that's inaccurate information, please let me know. I'll try my best to update it. ![]() |
