I don't post enough here anymore. I blame my job.
While it's great to be King of the Customer Service, I'm also Man of the Slowly Recharging Battery and as such, my brain is mush and easily distractable. Let that not be the case so much anymore.
Let's have a chat so that all you people who aren't familiar with me get to know me. I'd like to get to know you. :o

Sure why not, I guess? My brain was in mush mode when I read that and I had to read through it again before I understood what was going on =P And come to think of it, i never "properly" introduced myself anyway (and typically don't but whatever); I registered ages ago to post some sound sample rips I also posted elsewhere, then just lurked the TCRF boards until I lost my password in a hard drive crash :/ Though this post may be my brain being mush gain (hi it's 3:32 AM) so I'm not sure if you want this kind of a reply but whatever
I am andlabs (real name Pietro Gagliardi) and I have been around =P Most of my game-related technical knowledge rests in the Genesis, though I have also looked in arcade games and recently started looking into SNES games as well. I am mainly a software programmer and musician, though I have been severely out of practice in music and am only now getting back into actually putting music down on something other than my brain or a recording of humming. I'm not knowledgeable in movies/actors, television shows/anime, etc. and missed out on lots of video games, though I'd really like to get to know all the systems I missed, and the 3DS I just got a few days ago marks the first time I not only owned a modern video game console but also me being smart enough to not buy shovelware for it =P (The Genesis is the focus of my research and knowledge because it was the first system I had and the system for which I had the most games I regularly played, but I had it around 1999-2001 when it no longer mattered.) There's a lot more I haven't said so far but this is getting rather long so =P
As for coming here, I come from Sonic Retro, where I am a wiki sysop; this was how I got to know Xkeeper (and through him Jul). Then when the current TCRF was launched I umped on early on (I think), staying in the IRC channel and contributing both content and discussion =P Recently I decided to try lurking the rest of the board more, oeh, here I am now. I'm active on a bunch of channels in IRC as well. I... guess that's it for now? |

I'm not familiar with you, so does that mean you want to get to know me?
Unlike a lot of people here, I know nothing about programming, hacking, software or any sort of technical knowledge. However, I'm pretty good butt-buddies with TheRedSnifit and he suggested that I join and hang out here. I'm more of a chat person than a forum person these days but since this board is generally pretty slow, it's not really much of a pain to look a few times a day since new posts come steadily (as opposed to places where you check in the morning, then check again in the evening and there's 100+ new posts). Also the IRC here doesn't work for me, so that's kinda lame. My java doesn't work correctly despite updating the new version it needed.
ANYWAY, from what I've seen, it's a pretty cool board with some pretty cool cats posting, so I hope to see you around some more. I've "mush"ed out on some of my old forums before and I know how hard it is to motivate yourself or find time to come back once you've been gone for a while. I'm also pretty easily distracted and my free time is very inconsistent, so I relate. I don't have anything rad like being the King of Customer Service to show for it, though. =]
Well, see ya around, and all that jazz.

Couldn't remember the greatest signature in the world. Yeeaaah, NO! This is a tribuuute! Ohhhhh. To the greatest signature in the world! All right! It was the greatest signature in the world all right.
And the peculiar thing is this, my friends. The signature I made on that fateful night didn't actually look anything like this signature! This is just a tribute. You've gotta believe me, and I wish you were there. Just a matter of opinion. Ah, fuck! Good God, God lovin'. So surprised to find you can't stop it. All right! All right. |

According to your 'Registered on' date, you've been around almost as long as I have. I've seen you around, but honestly, I don't think we've ever officially met, or have even spoken at all, really.
So, hi. I'm darthbobby. Pleasure to finally meet you. All of you, I suppose. I'm trying to be a bit more active recently, after having kind of left for a while there. I'm an online friend of FirePhoenix'/FPzero, which is who brought me here a few years back. You can either find me hanging out here, on #x, or on #sr388 over on EsperNet.
I suppose that's all for now.

Yeah, it's not really an intro thread more of an "I don't interact too much around here and wanna know who you guys are" sort of thing.
I help out around TCRF here and there, mostly lurking and looking and keeping an eye to make sure things are okay (though usually other people get to it before I do). Occasionally I'll throw stuff up there if I see something that hasn't been posted yet (which isn't often). Before TCRF, I was helping to run a wikia wiki like TCRF when BMF wasn't updating it back when he was having it as a site. I got addicted a while back. A loooooooong while back. In fact, I personally got the SMB3 debug code from David Wonn himself.

Welcome to the club.
I'm sure we'd have tshirts, if we could afford them.

Oh Hi Rick! I think the last time we talked was when you were considering moving to DC last July! I already studied a whole year in DC and now I don't come back until next fall
Hope Maine's treating you well! |

It's pretty much treating me the same. That and my own "ready but not ready" mindset when it comes to moving is not helping matters in the least.
I wouldn't mind sharing some of my feelings right here but I get this idea of a "big brother's watching you" mentality and I don't want to press my luck. Just call me a pussy.

Yeah that's why I ended up putting myself on a tight budget and stashing away money in my bank account like a crazy mofo. That way, if for some reason I can't get a job or can only get a low-paying one, I have something I can dip into a bit to help pay my expenses.
I only have like...maybe two people I can think of right off-hand that I could room with. I kinda wish I had family closer to where I wanted to move to so I could make that transitional step out of the area.
