My name is Kafy Anabello. I am a lurker of various video-game and hacking boards, such as this one, Talkhaus, Sonic Retro, and SMW Central. I have a strong interest in Internet communities and how members of one board's community view other communities. I would like to ask the members of Jul to complete a very small survey regarding the forgoing. Your participation is voluntary - I am just doing this for research/interest purposes! However, I would like it if as many people could participate as possible so that I can get a better picture of Jul as a whole. If you are "well travelled" around hacking boards, you might notice that a similar survey is being run on SMW Central, and that I have registered on other boards (byuu.org and Talkhaus, as well as Sonic Retro and Romhacking.net in the near future), with the hopes of running similar surveys there too. With that in mind, if you have completed this survey on another site, PLEASE do not complete it again here! If you are going to participate, please e-mail me your responses - don't post them here! There's a slight risk that one person's answer, if seen by someone else, could influence that someone else's answer. Also since this survey is now on more than one board, it'd be helpful if your subject line could mention Jul in it so that I can start organizing answers by board. Anyway, without further ado, here are the survey questions! -------------------------------------------------- 1. How often do you visit Jul? 2. How often do you use Jul as a hacking resource? Getting advice on hacks and hacking, getting tools, uploading content, etc. 3. How often do you use Jul as a community? Participating in the forums discussions, talking to other users on the site in PMs, as well as on the IRC, etc. 4. How often if at all do you use other hacking sites and or participate in their communities? - - - - - - 5. Do you have friends on Jul that you talk to away from the site? Using other IRC channels, on MSN or AIM or Skype, texting/calling, in-person, etc. 6. Do you have any friends on other hacking sites that you talk to there or through other means (like the ones listed above)? - - - - - 7. Without being overly detailed, what do you think of other hacking sites as hacking communities and communities in general? - - - - - 8. Finally, how do you think other hacking sites view Jul (in the most broad terms)? ----------------------------------------------------- So, yes, that's it.
