There is some musics in the game that the name matches with the unused stages. I already tried the WindWaker extractor, tried to replace into the HEX and nothing... The only progress I did was the first level music messed up, I don't really know how is the music, so I don't know if I did it right.

I need some help.

What are you trying to do? If you want to use wwdumpsnd to get the music out, you may as well give up now. There's no way to extract sequenced music from Gamecube/Wii games short of recording the game.

Of course, I don't actually know if the music in Pikmin is sequenced or streamed. If it's streamed, you are looking at the wrong files.

It's the Banks, there is lots of .aw and 1 file called "pikibank.bx"
The streams I extracted, but nothing unused

If I'm not mistaken, .AW files are the sound effects. No clue how to get at them, though, or otherwise I'd have all the sounds from Super Mario Galaxy/2/Sunshine.

As soon as I have free time, I'll go through all the sound effects in SMG/SMG2 to see if there's anything unusual.

Edit: They're all exporting corrupted, and always in nine pieces. I know the files are fine because I ripped them myself... could it be the files use an updated format?

I think the only game that works AW are Wind Waker and Twilight Princess.
And which program do you use?

AW are sound effects AND musics. Seeing on Dolphin log, it shows the file loading when the music starts

They're used for the instrument samples of sequenced music, yes, but not streamed tracks. Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy 1/2 use very similar engines, so they use the same file formats.


I just used dumpaw, but a quick search showed that other people have had better luck using it on the same files. Someone else use a different, more complicated process to get them. I'll worry about it later, though.


Even though the files it exported are corrupt, the sounds themselves are intact (in between big chunks of noise). The only interesting thing I found was that SMG2 has a copy of the entire title screen stream, along with the drum channel, as one of the .AW files. Even more interesting is that it has two copies of the whole track, though I think they might be slightly different. Either way, it's interesting.

That generally means the sound is the right format for the tool, but there's extra information (I'd imagine stuff like sample rate, length, possibly an ID for the game to access it, etc) stored with it, which... is then getting falsely decoded into gibberish.

Probably fairly easy to strip it out (or use it, for that matter; dumpaw comes with source), if you're technically inclined.

I already did that. I modified in Hex and on GC-Tool and nothing.
The only result was a corrupted First Level Music. I don't know if the unused music is this one...

Also, I edited the pikibank.bx (a general file for load the stuff). Changed the select_0.aw (the one of the save files) to play3_0.aw (unused one), but no results.
