Thank you!

A few months ago, I tried to change the Map Select, but there were things I did not understand. For two days and files "stage.dzs" I could understand how the file "Menu1.dat" and so do the hack. For cons, I had calculated to be very careful and not make a mistake somewhere.

I totally agree, it's much nicer to visit all the unused rooms with the Map Select. I did not like the method codes that was painful and not very satisfactory.

I did not put the unused rooms of the dungeons, because they do not work and it does not have much utility for now. Unless one day, these rooms are available in new hacking.

In my hack of TWW, I modified the Map Select, "TF_03", "A_nami", "E3ROOP", "Msmoke", "Obshop", and using your version of "A_R00". A nice result for now. With DIOS MIOS, I can enjoy the hack on my Wii!

It must be nice being able to play the hack on a real console. I get sick of playing these hacks on Dolphin all the time. I almost want to hack my Wii to be able to play these hacks we've made but then I get nervous I will end up bricking my console. Perhaps one day I will decide to hack the damn thing...

Speaking of A_R00, my hack is moving slowly but surely. I am able to use the the OBJ2BDL converter with no issues at the moment and hopefully it stays that way. I have been able to convert simple models with custom textures. Right now I am trying to align up the A_R00 model with the in game collision. They are nearly lined up with each other but I need to make a few more adjustments to line them up more. Then I will need to figure out how to handle those damn mushrooms that won't UV texture properly. When I solve this problem I will be able to start applying textures to the model.

I hope Gamma is having some success with importing actors.

It was the same thing, I was hesitant to hack my Wii, but when I really realized I could play any game (NES, SNES, GB, N64 and others), I thought that I had to try despite the risk. It was in 2009. I never had a serious problem with the Wii and I am very careful that it never happens. Then, there are ways to save your Wii after the principal hack. The only risk with me, it would be a power cut while I hack the Wii, but it would be more bad luck than anything else! Anyway, I encourage you to do so, your Wii will win 80% in utility! But it's up to you to be really sure of this step.

My version of TWW works perfectly on Wii, only the room "A_R00" does not work for now. I hope you will come to find why it crashes the game on a console. Perhaps with future change you announcements, it might work on the Wii. Fingers crossed!

I will return to a subject a few months ago about the Map Select.

6 - ScnMenu
7, 8, 9 - ScnPly variations
10/0xA, 11/0xB - ScnTitle
12/0xC, 13/0xD - ScnName
14/0xE, 15/0xF - ScnOpen
20/0x14 - ScnRoom

But unfortunately, there's no function that calls fopScnM_ChangeReq with 6 So the map select menu is totally inactive, even when the debug mode is enabled using version >= 0x91.

There are a lot of time, I found a site code, a code to enable the Map Select by the Reset button. The method is pretty good, but has the disadvantage of disabling the Map Select. I prefer mine with using L+Y (On) and L+X (Off).

The code uses just "fpcPf_Get" but I can not understand how it works, as I say, I'm not an expert in codes. This can help you, Treeki?

The computer with all my stuff on it is still down for the count, so I haven't been able to actually start it yet. However, there's a chance that it will be fixed in the next few days (maybe even today), so don't worry- it will get done.

Also, I don't think testing this type of hacking on an actual console is feasible. The way I understand it, the Wii can't use the SD card or USB drive while in Gamecube mode, so the only way to play a GC game through backup is with a burned DVD-R. Wasting a DVD-R every time you want to try something out would not be practical. Unless there's been some kind of breakthrough that I don't know about.

Edit: Ha, I guess I should have looked up Dios Mios. I didn't know you could do that. I'll have to get this installed ASAP.

This goes to Dark Linkaël, Gamma or anyone else who can use Dios Mios. I've created a simple BDL model of a cube with custom textures. You can't see the model in bmdview2 but you can extract its custom textures to get an idea what the cube should look like. These models are viewable in game though (at least for me in Dolphin). I want to test if these custom BDLs that I create can be successfully viewed on an actual console. I need someone to test this model on a real console. If this simple BDL model of a cube crashes the game then there isn't much I can do and we might not be able to import custom models for consoles.... at least not without a fight.

Here is the model file:
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?0pfbfuvkncyh9c9

To view the model in game, replace the current model of A_R00, use GCRebuilder to rebuild the ISO and load A_R00 with the map select menu. If the map does actually load on a console then you will see a model of a cube in the room. You might want to see what the room looks like in Dolphin first before you try it on a real console.

Please let me know the results.

I'll test it on emulator and on the Wii. But for the Wii, it will wait until tonight to test it (Not to mention that there are 6 hours difference where I am).

Pray that the console accepts your model without trouble, otherwise it's very annoying!

Edit : First test on the Dolphin emulator, it works perfectly and with textures! Now, it will be on my Wii console to really know if he will accept or not.

Other edit : I added the other two unused rooms "SubD45" in the Map Select. I think they are unused.

Files of The Wind Waker HACK (US Version)

3th edit : Cuber456, I have great news for you! Your model works perfectly on my Wii! You'll be finally be safe with the new models to come.

I think your model "A_R00" has too many BMD file (4 models, the game that supports up to 3 as I recall).

It is good news that a real console was able to load the test model properly. We now know that it is possible to load simple custom models on a real console. Dark Linkaël, I don't think that there is a limit to the number of BMD/BDL files a room can load. You say that the max limit is three models. However, if you look at the room "Hyrule" and open up the Room0.arc, you notice that the number of BDLs in the BDL folder is four.

I have an idea of why your console crashed and it doesn't have to do with too many models being loaded. I can explain in detail if you want me to but simply put, I think the problem is those damn mushrooms.

I will try tomorrow to remove some of the four models in the room "A_R00" to see if it works or not. If it works, it is a link with too many models of BMD, although "Hyrule" possesses much. Otherwise, the BMD are not fully compatible with a console or something that does not seem to support. The textures of colors in question perhaps...

We'll see tomorrow if this mystery can be solved. Already, we know we can import textures on models in TWW! It was important for the future.

I don't think that this method won't work. Even if you were to load a single BDL(out of four) from the "color" version of the forest or just load the "monochrome" version of the forest, I just don't think it will work. I think the reason that none of those models will work is because of those damn mushrooms.

I'll try to keep this simple. Remember how those models don't include mushrooms? That technically isn't true. If you look in the Blender files for each model before I converted them to a BDL, the mushrooms do actually exist. They are very small and aren't where they are suppose to be. To try to keep this simple, I wasn't able to perform a required operation on the mushrooms that I was able to do to the rest of the model. What I believe is happening is that because I wasn't able to perform that required operation on the mushrooms, the console doesn't know how to handle any of the models I gave you and crashes. Dolphin can handle it for some reason but who knows why............

If this theory is correct then if I remove the mushrooms from the Blender model and convert it to a BDL, then this new BDL model should work on a console. Here is that said BDL:

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?fw28v4z5a13etow

If you are going to test the other models, you might as well test this new version of A_R00. This model of A_R00 almost matches the collision. It does use custom textures. The whole model is yellow and black because I lazily textured the model. As before, look at the model in Dolphin before you bring it to your console. I await to hear your results.

As you have given me a new model of "A_R00" I'm not going to try my method.

Already, it runs on the Dolphin emulator without trouble again. Now I expect tonight to make a new test on my Wii. I am very confident about the final result.

Edit : Well, I tested your new model on my Wii...

Result: Perfect! Wonderful!

I knew I was very confident about the final result. Now you have a clear path to a beautiful model "A_R00"! Did your best!

Oh, I wish I could use the program to change the BDL models. Could you put a link so I can download it, please?

This is great news! I will be able to start working on texturing now.

Actually, Gamma also asked to see the same program. You can download it from this forum here ->

http://www.supermariogalaxy2-5.com/index.cgi?board=prgrming&action=display&thread=991&page=17

You have to be logged in to download it. This is a python program so make sure you have the necessary utilities to use it. In other words, read the readme .

I hope Gamma's computer is fixed. I can't wait until we put the piece of our work together .

Good luck with the work that awaits you!

No, but like a direct link, because I prefer not to register on a forum who do not speak my language. Already I rarely go on forums to share one of my website "Triforce Legend" and right here.

What I want to do is set the precedent "Vr Box" in the game, but the "MAT3" in the model causes me trouble very painful.

Well, I had hoped it would be fixed by now, but there were some snags, and... The problem was that I dropped it one to many times (I'm clumsy sometimes, what can I say?) and the hard drive got damaged. I've got a new hard drive (this one's even bigger than the one I had before), but I found that the backup I had made a little while back only had one of my computer's partitions (Which sucks, because that means that I have to go download the programs I had been using for TWW hacking again). My dad was helping me with it, but he had to leave for a business trip on Monday and won't be back until Sunday, so I don't actually know when it will be fixed. We set up the remaining partition to be restored to the new drive before he left, but I don't know what happened with it.

So, long story short, I actually have no idea when my computer will get fixed. I apologize for that, but be assured that I will get it done when I can.

On another note, I see what you mean about the tree model. Would you be able to post a screenshot of the model you suggested to put on the stumps? Even though I can't do anything, I at least want to get an idea of what I'll be trying to do.

While I'm on the subject, what exactly should I put in the map? We need trees, grass, moblins and bushes, I know that, but... what about the other things? I noticed that the trailer shows the map with three different aesthetics- a clear day, a rainy scene and forest particles at night. Should I only be concerned with the 'clear day' one right now? Should I set it up so that it starts raining in a portion of the map? I think I can do that. If we can figure out how the game decides to use two different ACTR/ACTx and SCOB/SCOx DZR entries for day and night, we could make it so that the forest particles only appear at nighttime...

Er, do you have any opinions on the matter, Cuber? I feel that you're really the head of this project.

Older models of trees, bushes and others are totally impossible to recover. So it will use existing models of the game. Yes, it is better either to noon in this room and it is not raining. The main thing is to make the room "A_R00" in a very playable. Most of the unused rooms using current models of the game.

I still like to know if there is something special for the room "VrTest". I find it very strange, and the file "Title.arc".

I think they should work perfectly for the map. Their location is in the description of the video.

As for what to put on the map, let's keep it simple so we don't kill ourselves. What we need are trees and 2 moblins, that is it. We can talk about importing other actors once we are able to accomplish this first task.

Thank you, I will see tomorrow what I can do this "Vr Box" second version.

The real trees "A_R00" are similar but they are larger and thinner on top. Anyway, the existing trees will be fine for restore "A_R00".

There must be also small bushes, it's more beautiful and more full. For textures, it is without hesitation the forest of Outset Island.

As long as you know what needs to get accomplished, everything is fine. Don't worry about the project too much and make fixing your computer your first priority. At the end of the day, I'm not in a hurry to get this done. The way I see it, as long as I can get something produced during this month(August) I will be happy.

So seriously, don't worry about the project until your computer is fixed.

I can not for converting a BDL model in OBJ model. I get errors which gets on my nerves for hours now. I used several methods, I have different errors...

Cuber456, you could really explain how to use this script?

I have to write sur Command: "obj2bdl model.obj model.bdl"? Or should I go in a special program to run scripts?

Gamma, do you know why some rooms "Siren" (For example the room 19 with a starting point), Link is in the middle of nowhere and falls each time? When attempting to restore "E3ROOP" I have also this problem in some particular cases.

The alt attribute should be used to give a short description
of an image; longer descriptions should be given with the
longdesc attribute which takes a URL linked to the description.
These measures are needed for people using non-graphical browsers.

For further advice on how to make your pages accessible
see http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL.
You are recommended to use CSS to specify the font and
properties such as its size and color. This will reduce
the size of HTML files and make them easier to maintain
compared with using <FONT> elements.

You are recommended to use CSS to control line wrapping.
Use "white-space: nowrap" to inhibit wrapping in place
of inserting <NOBR>...</NOBR> into the markup.
