FOX news had a segment on people's first initials and reported that people's first initial determined a whole bunch of things from success in school to tendency to strikeout in a baseball game.

I think it is a bunch of bull...what do you think?

Yeah, no. My first name starts with a C, and I mostly get A and B grades, he's just an idiot. Also, how can your name starting with a k make you strikeout when you don't even know that k is the letter for a strike? Falling in love before you know someone's name, need I go on?

It's unbelievable. Some people really don't care about their initials, and even if they do, it doesn't mean that because their first initial is a certain letter that you will either fail or succeed in certain aspects of life.

You just can't believe it.

I don't know why I put this here.
Nice, but they don't explain what my initials do for me. I most certainly am not what they spell out, otherwise I'd be a different person. :p

Am I the only one that does tend to see a correlation between a person's name and their behaviour and appearance? Not every time, of course, but frequently, I find people with the same name have a lot of other similarities.

I don't find that to be the case, sometimes yeah, but I meet people with different names that act similarly just as often. If anything, I suspect that maybe the human brain draws connections where none exist between similarly named things, that could explain the study too(to a degree), our brains don't make us act based on our initials, but they affect our perceptions of others based on their names..?

Yes it does. Look at the conspiracy theorists. They seem to be seeing connections that don't exist because they are seeing connections that don't exist. That's what's happening here.
