I'm still sorta new to making layouts, and my coding knowledge is pretty low, so bear with me on this experiment.

But what do you all think of this?

Kinda hard to read that text colour on that background, I suggest making a box for the text over the BG.

Hm. The box is quite narrow, which doesn't look particularly good on my screen resolution (1440x900), and I know some people have even wider screens than that... your background looks like it should tile well, so you might as well just set the width to 100%. Also, personally I would just avoid opacity entirely... That might also solve the issue Karis mentioned.

Other than that, though, it isn't bad.

OK, I changed the width, and got rid of (most of) the opacity.

I thought about making a separate box as Karis suggested, but I thought I'd gamble on this idea first.

Aside form it being rather small and difficult to read with the transparency on, it's not too bad. However, it does seem to cause some kind of gap in the tables or something, which is probably not a good thing.

I usually don't have that issue on my other boards, so it's gonna take some tinkering.

Word of advice: never, ever use CSS opacity in your layouts, since it can cause slower computers/browsers to lag horribly. Use a transparent PNG (100x100px or so) instead.

Oh wow. Thanks. That solved it =)

I would have never found it otherwise, I was testing each thing deleted, and it started to anger me. Good to know it auto converts the br tags.
