My only true companion
reminding me of who I am.
I long to feel complete
to love and be loved in return.

A child wandering in the night
longs to feel the warmth of the sun.
a reflection of the light she seeks,
The moon finds her and leads her on.

Unobtainable, undesirable,
Unthinkable, unknowing,
Unrequited, unreal,
But the moon leads her on.

A reflection of the light I seek
distorted by hope rumor and fantasy.
Does the light even show what I really see?
Or did the reflection just come from me?

Shining through the misty haze
through the trees of a forest at night.
Haunting, sad and beautiful,
are you all I'll ever know of the light?

Longing, shining life to the night,
The light of hope and a white lamb
My only true companion
reminding me of who I am.

We long to feel complete
to love and be loved in return.
