So I'm grabbing this Technic pack I've heard so much about, and I'm going to be fiddling around with it.

Probably gonna turn off Better than Wolves though. Don't really see much use for that, especially since it doesn't mesh with the others too well, and since the creator creeps me the fuck out.

I had backed my MC install to 1.7.3 to play with Technic but it makes me kind of sad, since I don't get to have my nicer stuff run with it. I'm back on 1.8.1 now, though. And at least I have the automated mining (although slow due to redstone). Will be nice when they finish updating the Forge API so we 1.8'ers can have engines.

Also I may try that "Junk" seed. And possibly video the spawn zone.

I heard they probably won't until 1.9+ because mojang is updating quickly now.

I have a profile manager, so I even have indev and the 1.9 prerelease (for creative funtimes. Fuck yeah nether brick.) on here.

Nope, one of them is finishing up a bug in it. The others are on vacation or whathaveyou. It makes sense imo to try making one for every 1.x release too. In that the next update may have less bugs to fix than waiting an entire update and hoping it doesn't multiply the issues tenfold.

I'm still waiting for the "adventure" mode where as other players can build maps in creative for people to play in adventure and not be able to break blocks, level up, and other shit. I don't want to whine, but mojang seem to work slower then what notch worked when he was alone.

The popularity and PR factors have made Notch into Andrew Hussie.

Anyway, loaded the "Junk" seed into 1.8.1 and this was the spawn zone. Rather.. Boring...
Oh and.. Ignore the name of the world... I just kind of typed that in originally intending to start a random seed..

It's weird, the seeds aren't very portable these days. You never know if it's going to be the same thing elsewhere :\

Well, the system is supposed to choose a random spawn point on the seed. So it's not usually the same. If it is you're hitting a weird snag in the code or landed lucky.

Like the seed 9001.1, several people got the same spawn point, but every time I rebuild the world it sets the spawn somewhere else.

That's awesome. Nice use of crafting tables.


The quality I saw in the two videos I saw were fine. I'm not expecting HD or anything. About the audio, I figured it would just be replaced by the Kokiri Forest music anyway.

No, actually, this is the guy who thinks himself a god, and creepily describes dismembering wolves to the point that he edited the title.txt to all be his own messages about how he's good, notch sucks, and wolves are better dismembered.

He's also the dude who was the first to threaten the yogscast with being banned from a mod, iirc.
