Download the one on the left: "Mono" (not MonoDevelop or whatever else)
I suggest you get the latest version, not the long term support one.

Nope... You don't have to use wine.

Mono is similar to Wine, but for .net applications.
Download Mono for Mac, install it, and then open NSMBe with Mono.

I saw somewhere an "always play as luigi" AR cheat. You could use DSATM to insert it on the rom permanently.

Also, to make an autoscroll level, I suggest you get one of the original ones and modify it to your needs.

To ADD an animated block... I think that's impossible without asm hacking. You can still edit the standard one though.

Not monodevelop, just Mono.
It's not the same thing.

Actually, i don't use DSatm. I just code whatever I want and then I insert it into the ROM using NSMBe. However, I still haven't found a reliable method to do it (that's why i'm constantly changing the code in NSMBe)

When I complete it, i'll probably do some kind of tutorial. You can do really nice things with ASM hacking, but it's very time-consuming, and sometimes very frustrating.

You can replace all mario files in the player folder with the suitable luigi files
I did it too and it worked

But you won't get luigi's voice. (I think?)

Hmm... I don't think so
All the sounds in NSMB are on the two big SDAT files. And all the stuff in the player folder is just the 3D models, textures and animations.

I dont think Nintendo mixed sound and 3d that way

But, try it anyways. If it doesnt work you'll have to edit the sdat file.

Hey, Treeki is currently working on NSMBW hacking so he probably is no longer interested in NSMB DS that much. It's up to him to post here or not!

These days i'm going to be very busy IRL and I don't know when will I finish it...

It's been fixed in the last revision. (at least for me)
Are you still having problems?

If so please post the pic that causes the problems

Actually, no.
You know, the princess peach castle BG? The one which is used in 1-1?
The castle only appears once. If you go further, only the rightmost 256 pixels are looped

You could use that one

Try to create the very same block on another map16 tile.
Some map16 tile numbers are "reserved" and dont work...

Try to check the original level, and set the same music it has...

Also, did you change the sound set? (I think I added that after 5.1, so if you're using 5.1 you haven't)
