Hmm. If i apply the patch to a CLEAN EUR ROM the title screen works, so it should work for you. It doesnt work on the U rom because the filenames are different. I dont know how to get around it... Maybe restrict patches to be applied only to the version they have been made on?...

No, it will be completely new from scratch. Treeki is rewriting it in Python, so it will be cross-platform and small. The interface will be very similar to the DS editor.

Hmm. The idea of the level is quite good, but i think you should fix a couple of things:

At the beginning, what happens if you loose the mushroom? You get stuck! and you should fix that you start over the screen, its a bit confusing.
And the bonus cloud area... you should remake it

no, its not bad, its just unusual You can do what you want as long as the level is fun, but its true that the level looks a bit ugly with them.

Just one problem - on level 4, the second slope-sided pit is insanely hard to get out of if you fall in, as you can't jump out, and to get out you need to jump on a goomba. The only problem is to get a goomba on screen, you need to slide all the way up the slope, and you can't stop, so you'll probably kill it.
If you want any help with it, I'd be happy to help.
Looking forward to the rest of it!

Thanks for the comments
I made the second pit like that on purpose. Just don't fall
I'm currently thinking about w2-2. I hate the water lakitu level! It was just an experiment. It is un-fun. What kind of level would you do?

I need some good ideas for levels!!!

Hey, that's actually a really cool idea. The only problem is it would just look like a tileset fail rather than a good idea. Otherwise, wow, nice idea.

Hmm... Nice. Maybe it would look cool with the tileset a bit customized, like all plants and such brown, and the walls a bit more brown-ish... It's a good idea. i'll possibly make it! Thx

nah. its much easier.

16x16 Blocks in NSMB are two things:
- Graphics
- Behavior

Both are editable in the tileset editor, in the Map16 tab.
I haven't looked at it, but i'm sure the behavior has some bits that say it is a ? block, a brick or an invisible block, and some other bits that say what its contents are.
So what you'll have to do is to take an unused empty map16 tile, leave it blank since the block is invisible, and set its behavior to an invisible block with a mini mushroom.
Then create an object for it containing the new tile.
Then save the tileset.

but DON'T EDIT JYOTYU/TILESET 0 yet! In editor 5.0 it lets you edit it but i think it corrupts the rom!
Open tilest 0 to look at the behaviors, and then create the new block in another tileset. In the next version, jyotyu will be fully editable.

I dont have the editor now, i'm at school. If you want i'll look at it and post here the exact instructions

yeah, it will be in some future version. We plan to make the gfx editor able to edit any file.
I dont think that those gfx will be exportable and reimportable though, because the UI stuff shares a lot of palette data, so we can't edit it as freely as tileset palettes.

Hmmm. Object 82 of what tileset? You shouldnt edit tileset 0, it may crash the rom. If not, i have no idea.

sure, but i don't know with what lol
and, it work only 5 sec on emu, but don't work at all on a linker.

open your edited rom with nsmb editor, and under tools, select export patch, and select an unedited rom (of the same region) and then save the patch and send it to me

Linux is the best. Ubuntu! It NEVER hangs, is very reliable, virus-less, fast-booting even if you have been using it for years...

I only use Windows (xp) when i have no alternative. It's so shit! Micro$oft is making worse and worse software.

No. In 5.0, tilesets 1 and 2 are FULLY editable without any crashes. Tileset 0 editing causes the rom to crash at startup because some weird compression that we haven't been able to figure out fully yet. Hopefully it will be editable in 5.1

yeah... but i think he means that now we can use different tilesets for the levels. but i'm not quite sure if we know fully how it works, because i have a friend at school with a nds and a r4 and we can test levels, and i dont know why, some multiplayer remakes work and some don't (black screen at level startup), but even with only editing level files without changing level settings
This should be investigated more.

EDIT: And DS Download Play IS possible. It sometimes works and sometimes doesnt, as the multicart.

I once tested levels a while back with ds download and it worked... I can test it again and report what happened.

i think that for the thing you want to do you need a 276 sprite.

the 19x scroll controls are for vertical scrolling.

It doesnt work like that.
When you open a rom with NSMB Editor and save a level, it is saved directly into the rom you opened. The rom is modified.
So you can open the rom with no$gba or copy it to a flashcart and play it.
