I listed myself as agnostic but to be honest I am not really sure that is entirely accurate. It just fits better than the rest of the options.

I personally believe that God is not a deity per say. I think that "it" would be a part of an energy based species that would appear to be a god to humans because it would be so far ahead on an evolutionary scale.

As for the universe as a whole...I believe the universe is run by a giant mathematical equation. Every thing that happens in every living and non-living things existence is accounted for in the equation. I find that religion and perceptions are constantly changing and I find it hard to believe that the universe would be run by the chaos of interpretation. I think that math is a much better representation of how the universe works because it doesn't change. Math is constant and there is an intrinsic beauty in that.

I apologize for the silly comment earlier in the thread. I was just trying to put a little levity in the thread. It makes me sad to see people beat up on themselves so I try to bring a bit of humor to the situational. Take it from me Supa, you are so not a dick. A) this is coming from someone who has no social skills B) If you were a dick I probably wouldn't have responded to this thread at all. So cheers to you mate

I want to believe that future administrations will take not of the failures in the Iraq War and work to keep us out of foreign affairs. I understand that with a global economy complete isolationism is impossible but the Founding Fathers had the right idea by keeping America isolationist. We really need to return to those roots and get out dick out of everyones asses. Maybe they will like us better after that.

*sigh* One can always dream. As I said before, I WANT to believe that we will mind our own business, but I know that it will never really happen. I am glad our troops are coming home though.

What do you think about the pop star Kesha? I have heard a lot of people say that they hate her, but her songs are so damn catchy.

It really depends on which computer I am using. When I am on my mac, the touch pad is a must. It is so easy to use and unlike PC laptops it is actually accurate. When I am on my PC I use my wonderful scroll-wheel/middle click mouse ^^

Granted she is a lot like Lady Gaga, but I do respect her for one thing and one thing only. She objectifies men in her music the same way most artists objectify women. Lady Gaga does it more subtly but Kesha just comes out and says it. Objectifying men in mainstream media hasn't been done since Lil Kim so in a way I am proud of Kesha.

XD Granted Terra.
I also like the beats better than the actual lyrics. Keep in mind that I don't actually listen to her. I just heard one of her songs on the radio and realized how similar she was to Lil Kim.

It's alright to cry sometimes

I thought this was really cool. Also did you know that when you "fake" smile at someone it is actually a evolutionary signal that you are not a threat?

Fairness in animals.

This is a really interesting article. Just goes to show that humans aren't as different from other species as we think.

Instead, I'd be thinking, "Wow, she's trying to deny about half of our population the right to vote." I could cut her a little slack for campaigning in the name of justice, or whatever, but this certainly isn't the way she should be doing it.

The same thing, although on a much smaller scale, applies here.

I can see your point. I just respect her a little for doing something that it is essentially taboo in popular culture. At least that is how it is in America. I am not saying she is bringing "justice" to women. I just like the fact that she is objectifying men. As far as I am concerned it is fair game and it is refreshing to see it being done in my opinion.

I agree Terra. It is really nice to see musicians that are fully comfortable with their personal identities. In my opinion you can't write/play music if you aren't completely honest with yourself. Passion is what makes music wonderful and if it isn't there than you might as well pack up and get a day job. I also find musicians that dabble in a variety of different mediums and styles very refreshing. An artist that clings to a particular style comes off as flat and unadventurous to me.

FP headed off to college a week ago and as far as I know he is chumming it up with his new roommates. Damn boy doesn't even have the decency to call :/

He should be back sometime soon once school goes into full swing. If not I will pester him

I think I watch TNG more for the characters than anything else. I absolutely love Picard and Data. Though I can't figure out why the hell do they keep Troi around. She serves no purpose other than filling another female character slot. I think the only reason she is still there is because Riker is trying his hardest to bone her

This just in. Evidently FP's having trouble setting up a wireless network at his JMU homestead so that is the reason he has been offline for so long.

In my opinion Star Trek should have kept the Borg more in the background. They were more terrifying when they were an enigma. The more we learned about them the less scary they became and I really felt that was an injustice to them.

I really liked Guinan as a character. I never knew Whoopi Goldberg could actually act until I saw her in this role. I really wish they went in depth with Guinan's backstory. I would have loved to be able to se her home planet. I also liked how they crafted her special abilities. Guinan's people are acutely aware of the time space continuum, which makes them Time Lords when you think about it...

I totally understand what you are saying about Worf. He is such a wonderful character simply because he doesn't say much yet has such a great impact when he does speak.

I really like how Data is essentially the poster child for Asperger's. In many ways he is exactly like my best friend Caitlin.
