You know, I've never actually liked really long threads. It took me a while to start actually posting in the JCS and Pub because they're 30 pages and I feel bad for not having read the whole thing before posting. I remember threads that would gain two pages when I finished reading one, which, seeing as I'm a very fast reader, meant that the people posting in the thread were simply not reading before posting. Not my thing, really. --------------------

Using the 64-bit flash plugin requires you to manually put it into the Firefox plugin directory. Not too bad. For Java, there's complete 64-bit versions of all the components of Java in the open-source versions. Unfortunately, the open-source Java engines are horrendously slow. I do Java development, so I need to use Sun Java to get anything done. Unfortunately, the 64-bit Linux Sun Java doesn't come with the plugins needed for most programs. So despite having installed it, Firefox and Eclipse still manage to use the open source equivalents. In Eclipse's case, I can't even get my programs to run. Overall, it's been a pain. I was planning on waiting for Jaunty before downgrading to 32-bit, but at this rate I think I'm going to give up and do it today. --------------------
