There's the Griffith Observatory, the museums (Getty, Getty Villa, Museum of Modern Art, etc), the beaches and piers (Santa Monica for sure), the little gems throughout LA and Hollywood (Pink's hot dogs, Amoeba music, etc), the Walk of Fame and all kinds of other touristy stuff in Hollywood around Sunset and Vine, Universal Studios, Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, tons of sports teams to see, all kinds of scavenger hunts and geocaching events set up that I want to try, lots of dinner theaters (Midieval Times!!!!) and even themed dinner cruises that I've heard about.

And, of course, people watching. Endlessly entertaining if you're in the right place.

I usually make a huge amount of a meal that can be put in the fridge and last all week so that I don't have to cook every day or depend on frozen meals all the time. But either way, it's just a matter of throwing something in the microwave. A PB&J sandwich or a bowl of cereal are for if there's nothing else.

My mom uses her home phone regularly, but I never did when I lived at home. If I needed to make a call, I used my cell. I don't have a home line for my apartment either... I would never use it.

This is my fourth year at my university, and every year new stuff is written all over the bathroom stalls. It's a wonder the school even bothers painting it every summer... they know what's going to happen! But it's been really entertaining, seeing how the graffiti grows every year.

I used to never cut my hair, aside from trimming the bottom every once in a while. But I got sick of dealing with it in middle school and chopped off about a foot before high school. Then I continually cut more off every year... now it is shoulder length and wavy. It's so much easier to deal with! I love it.

It's a little long now, I need to get it cut. It's been a couple months.

It would take some getting used to. My wallet has a pocket for coins, but it's almost always full. If I had to start shoving $1 or $2 coins in there as well, I'd need a new wallet to fit them! But quite honestly, I rarely handle cash anymore... most of my purchases are made with my debit card. So I'm sure if new coins began circulating, I wouldn't really be all that affected by it.

I really miss Vanilla Coke. It's not available in any of the store around me. When I went to San Francisco it was everywhere though, so I drank to my heart's content.

I also miss sugar cane Dr. Pepper. Only had it once, found it at Target... SO amazing. After that I never saw it again.

Trader Joe's is always discontinuing or replacing my favorite products as well... marinades and sauces and particular brands of food that I fell in love with are suddenly no longer available.

I'm very organized. It's part of my nature... everything has a home and should be there when not in use. The messiest part is definitely my desk, because of the amount of books spread about that are constantly in use.

My girlfriend and I are very close to adopting a kitty... we're just worried about money. It's $100-$130 to adopt, a couple hundred if we decide to have the cat declawed (which I'm not sure I want to do, but I'm worried it's necessary... opinions?), and at least $100 more to get the litter box, litter, bowls, food, toys, etc. We live in a pretty small apartment but I don't think the cat will mind that... I just want to make sure we can afford it every month.

I'm looking forward to the day this month that my mouth is all healed! I got all four of my wisdom teeth removed a few days ago, and I'm sick of the restricted movement and diet already. I've had more mashed potatoes in the last four days than anyone should ever have to eat! And the insides of my cheeks are so raw and swollen that they're pushing on the incision site and causing a tremendous amount of pain. I'm trying to go without vicadin today because I need to focus on homework, but man... this is crap. Just looking forward to a few weeks from now, when I'll be back to normal. Mmmm, thanksgiving...

Hmm... you guys make good points. The only reason I even considered it is because I'm in an apartment and will definitely lose my $500 deposit (and possibly pay more) if there's any damage caused by a cat. I've known a few cats that aren't declawed, and some of them were just mean with those nails! On top of the destruction they can cause, I don't want to be scratched up. But I guess it does depend on the cat's personality... it just means we really have to look hard to find a cat who's a sweetheart, even with strangers. Or I can look for some that are already declawed... that's a good suggestion FO.

I never really believed in scratching posts... my sister had a cat a while back but it never even touched the scratching post she bought it. But it sounds like all of you guys have cats that love them.

I'm definitely getting one that is already spayed/neutered. Almost all of those up for adoption already are by the humane society, so it's not much of a concern.

I am sooooooo relieved that Jerry Brown beat Meg Whitman, and that Barbara Boxer maintained her senate seat. But there are two big disappointments this election year: the loss of the House and the failure to pass Prop 19. I don't even smoke weed, but I could see the incredible revenue that would come from taxing it... such a shame.

Since I'm an English major, I go through 30-40 books a semester for school. While I enjoy this, it leaves no time for free reading.

So if you count school books, I read a shit ton. If you're only talking about free reading, then maybe one or two during the summer when I have time.

When I was younger, I read all the time. In the car, at school, at home... I was always in a book. I like books.
