 | My name is prominently displayed at the top of this post. I'm a computer science major that likes to play games. The closest I've ever come to ROM hacking in my life if opening SMW in Lunar Magic and editing level 105.
F-Zero X IQ: 1.5
I never owned a physical copy of the game; I've only emulated it. I haven't even emulated it that much. I've raced quite a few times, but that's about it. I can't say I'm terribly knowledgeable about the different game modes or how the game's physics work.
Programming Skill: 2.5
Something tells me this editor won't be written in PHP or TI-83+ BASIC, which are the two programming languages I am comfortable with.  With that being said, I am eager to learn pretty much any language we choose (lolcode, anyone?) and I consider myself an extremely fast learner when it comes to programming.
ROM hacking skill: 1
I would put 0 if it was an option. I have never opened up a ROM in a hex editor in my life, and all I know about ROMs is that they have these things called headers and then a bunch of other stuff.
Other skills: Hmm... I think I'm pretty good at completing things by a deadline. I have a fair amount of HTML knowledge, though nothing spectacular. I also like image/video/audio editing, although I can't say I'm terribly skilled at it.

| I'd be interested in helping out with the promotional video(s) and/or the user manual. I think I'd especially be able to help put the manual into language that people can easily understand, since I myself have almost no experience with ROM hacking, or even level editors. I could also help HTML-ize the manual.

| Suddenly, over the horizon, came the one enemy the ghosts had forgotten about - yet the one enemy they should have feared most.
A wild Tubba Blubba appeared!
The Boos fought valiantly, but alas, they were no match for Tubba Blubba's stomach. In a few short hours, BooUrns and a few others in the top floor of the ghost house were all that remained. He knew there was no escape, so he decided to activate the super-secret Ghost House Self-Destruction System to try to kill Tubba Blubba and protect other Ghost Houses all over the universe.
A giant explosion rocks the Island Ghost House.
A fireball consumes the land.
The remaining ghosts, along with Tubba Blubba, are reduced to vapor.
All that remains of the Ghost House is a barren wasteland.
May the Coalition live on, and may the Ghost House never be forgotten.

| From a flash drive. 
I wanted to transfer some files from my computer to hers, so put them on my ordinary 1GB Sandisk flash drive and inserted it into her computer. The moment I stuck it in... blue screen out of nowhere.
I have plugged this same flash drive into dozens of computers, and have never before had something like this happen. She refused to let me try again.
Has anyone else experienced freak crashes from doing ordinary things?

| I woke up this morning to find that my computer had mysteriously restarted itself in the middle of the night without my consent. When I logged on, I got a message saying that automatic updates have been applied and my computer was restarted.
I was puzzled, since I have my update settings configured to "Notify me but don't automatically download or install them." I went to the automatic update settings this morning, and all the options were disabled and "Automatic (recommended)" appears to be selected.
Does anyone have any clue as to how I could disable automatic updates again?  (On XP Professional if that matters)
Edit: Well, I just disabled the Automatic Update service, but the automatic update options window looks the same. I guess I'll have to see what happens...

| Well, I've tried everyone's suggestions and the options window has remained unchanged. At least now the Security Center is nagging me that my computer is unsafe, so that's probably a good sign.
I guess I'll find out at about 3AM sometime if it's really off or not...

| Head --> Desk moments... I had one a couple days ago. I was trying to print something in the basement computer lab, and I couldn't figure out why my flash drive refused to show up in My Computer. I tried about five different computers and was ready to conclude that the flash drive was broken.
Then I realized that each monitor corresponded to the computer tower on the right of it, not the left.
Sigh.

| Because the one I got with my laptop barely holds a charge any more. I'm not buying a replacement from Dell, because it'll die as quickly as this one did. I've never really bought any hardware online before (except for my laptop), so I don't know where I should start looking for a battery. Does anyone have some reliable sites they could link me to that would sell that sort of thing?

You can use it in your custom title (or wherever) with <img src=http://boourns.cjb.net/irc.php?nick=nick> (replacing nick with your IRC nick, obviously).
If you feel the urge to use it, knock yourself out. If you don't feel the urge to use it, and you wish I had never made it... there's always Adblock Plus. 
EDIT: Now you can choose what color you want. The default is 208, 208, 208
ANOTHER EDIT: You can add &shownick=true to the url to show your nick.
