I've got several tabs (usually collapsed into one to save space) that have been open for weeks that I check every so often. (They're mostly threads on various forums that I'm tracking the progress of). I find it easier to just go through them and refresh whenever I feel like it than remembering to open them from bookmarks or something.

It's only annoying when I restart Firefox, because the browser locks up for a bit as all those tabs load back up.

I was subscribed to the RSS feed for a while, but everything they had was either:
  • Something I already had
  • Something I didn't want
  • Something I wanted but could find cheaper elsewhere anyway
  • Something I wanted but couldn't justify actually spending money on it
I recently removed it from my feeds since it wasn't doing me any good anyway.

My desktop probably takes between 30 seconds and a minute to start up, but I don't really know since it's always running...

Same with my laptop (probably a bit slower), but resuming from sleep mode is nearly instantaneous, so I generally don't completely power it down either.

Summer, most definitely. Late spring and early fall are good too. Most any time when it's over 75F outside. I despise the cold, but heat doesn't usually bother me too much.

It's always depressing when it starts to get chilly in the fall, because it means there are many months coming. Stupid Midwest.

I had never heard of it until a couple years ago when a guy on my floor got the series on DVD and we watched it through over the course of a few weeks. It's definitely one of my favorite shows I've seen; a pity it ran for such a short time.

I was underwhelmed by Serenity, though. My expectations were probably too high - I was expecting the same feel as the show, which it wasn't. Still not a bad movie, though.

Also. I can kill you with my brain.

Lurked a while on I3, mostly watching VL-Tone (et al) decode SM64.

I've stayed around off and on, through board2 and now Justus League 2 Jul, posting when the mood takes me (which isn't often).

Making Windows behave a bit more like some Linux window managers:

WizMouse - Send mouse wheel events to the window under the mouse, even if the window is inactive. So, for example, you can scroll through a reference document while keeping your code window active.

altdrag - Hold down alt and move your windows around by clicking and dragging anywhere in them, not just the title bar.

1000 days here with 612 613 posts to my name... perhaps someday I'll make it to 1000 posts.

Anyhow, it's been fun thus far, here's hoping the next 1000 will be successful as well.

I also don't have any super-mobile devices with web browsers, mostly because I can't afford the cell phone data plans. Even if I could, though, I still don't think I actually would use it much -- I like my full-sized keyboards too much to try and use a 3-inch one for any extended length of time.

I agree that you should flip your text and the image, especially since you can't read the post without scrolling at 1024x*.

I also find the font a bit hard to read, but maybe that's just me.

Needs more 3D. Because everything's better in 3D. I'd advise red/cyan.

Posted on 04-01-10 08:25:45 PM, in Let's complain about the new youtube layout. (last edited by OoBurns at 04-01-10 08:30 PM) Link
This might explain why VLC gave me an error when I pasted a Youtube URL into its open network stream dialog. I swear it worked before.

Also, "Like" and "Dislike"? What ever happened to the good old star system?

Edit: youtube-dl, the Python script I usually use to download Youtube videos, seems to still work though.

Probably only Windows users will see the font as you intended anyway. I know Monotype Corsiva doesn't come with most (if any) Linux distros, and I don't think it comes with OS X either.
