My high school's email system did something like this - it didn't let you send .exe, .bat, .vbs, .zip, and the like as attachments. All you had to do was change the extension if you wanted to send one.

Just throwing my opinion out there...

I think learning how to do things such as level editing, geometry editing, and such are more important than learning how to change Mario's model. When I start playing a hack, the determining factor of whether I continue playing it or not is the gameplay itself. Sure, if someone changed Mario into Peach but only made minor modficaations to the courses themselves, I might spend a few minutes running and jumping around a couple levels, but that would be all. I would much prefer to play a hack using Mario as the model but having substantial changes to the gameplay.

So to all of you out there who are working on modifying SM64, my suggestion would be to focus your energy on things like level design, be it by editing the geometry or simply by creating innovative ways to get stars with what's there already.

Speaking of window management sorts of things, I find Taskbar Shuffle to be extremely useful. All it really does is let you drag and drop taskbar items to where you want them, and also lets you close a window by middle-clicking on it in the taskbar.

I find it handy.

This layout began as a creation of ye olde layout maker. I eventually recoded it myself at some point, and it's been slowly changing ever since.

I never really realized how messy the layout maker's output was until I compared my handmade one to the layout maker's version.

Google was always my search engine of choice because I was using dial-up until fairly recently. I preferred my search engine to load in less than 20 seconds (Hello, Netscape. Hello, Yahoo.) Askjeeves had a small home page too, but all I ever seemed to get for results were ads.
