So, *sigh*, my lappy is failing me (as usual).
Why does everything start breaking when the warranty is up?
Here's what's happening:
I put a CD (or DVD for that matter) in. It wants me to 'format this blank disc'. That'd be fine and all, if the disc we're in fact, blank. Any disc (even tested in other computers) does this. It says there's stuff on it (i.e. free space), but ....ARGH... take a screeny:

| I don't have access to it atm, but this looks like it just enables autorun. It autoruns just fine, it just says the disc is blank. |

| Hm. I just remembered that I recently installed (and used) Infra Recorder. I searched for known problems with it, but couldn't find any. Just to be safe, I uninstalled it. Still doesn't work though. Lemme try a reboot now. |

| Well, still no luck. I decided while it was rebooting that it would be worth my while to try a bootable cd. Hello Ubuntu 8.10. It booted and ran fine, so I think it's safe to assume it's hardware and not software. I guess I'll reinstall drivers now, even though it says they're fine. |
