I prefer coffee over tea for my caffeine kick. Instant coffee has been my biggest help during times of research and exams.

In a month, we could break the 10K mark if everyone keeps folding at the same rate. Once I get back to college, I might try and install this on a couple of lab computers.

It's a dream to be recruited by a magic circle law firm and move to the UK. Aside from that, and the US, I really wouldn't want to move anywhere else.

Blackout City by Anamanaguchi. Fast, awesome, upbeat chiptune music. Listening to this song makes me feel instantly happy. The rest of the Dawn Metropolis album is pretty good too.

I think I should listen to more 8bit music.

Posted on 02-03-10 03:52:17 PM, in What's your Ringtone? Link

I've had the same cellphone ring tone for about a year now, it's Eddie Grant's Electric Avenue. I first heard it playing in the opening scene of the movie Pineapple Express, liked the song and downloaded it and set it. It's not the loudest ring tone, but it is pretty groovy. I'm also pretty used to it now.

As the topic suggests, go on, tell us about your ring tone.

I stumbled across him on Youtube. Granted, its all covers, but they are very good and well produced. The guitar work on these tracks is exquisite, backed up by some angry drumming. Awesome.

I bought a copy of the Lord of the Rings One Volume Edition today. I really want to read it, but its ~1200 pages and the text size is fucking tiny. Good God, I even procrastinate the things I want to do.

Google launched Buzz yesterday as an add-on for Gmail. It allows you to share photos, videos and links with your Gmail contacts. It also includes the ability to include status updates.

Google seems to be playing catch up with Facebook, maybe because of this.

I learnt some basic HTML at school, and then I read this book. However, to design a good website, you not only need to know how to write the code but have an aesthetic sense too, and that is much harder to overcome than learning HTML.

I don't believe in ghosts at all. That being said, I must admit, I really enjoy watching TV programs that are related to supernatural experiences involving ghosts like Ghost Hunters.

Posted on 02-15-10 04:07:30 AM, in Remember floppy disks that flopped? Old stuff you grew up with. Link

I have a floppy drive on my desktop. When I was at school, I was the editor of my school's newsletter. This involved some amount of document back and forth, for which I used floppies. I remember using floppies upto as late as 2006 for transferring documents to school. But they were not very reliable so I upgraded to a flash dive.

I came back to college about 15 days back, starting a new semester. Now that the initial period is over, things are going to get a lot tougher on the academic front. Add to that I have a moot court in 4 days. There's a short break after that, but my seminar evaluations will start around the 15th.

Rapidshare and most other filesharing sites are blocked on the college wifi citing the reason that too much filesharing would slow down the network and such. However, the IT department did not think to ban the premium link generators, so I normally get my work done.

I have the same sort of card reader on my laptop, it accepts SD, MS/Pro, MMC and XD. Being the dumbass that I am, I tried putting in a MemoryStick Duo in it. Now, not only was it stuck, the card wasn't even mine. I did not have any tweezers lying around, I had to use a toungue cleaner to somehow get it out. I haven't used it since.
