I really do not like this forced style, as it is really bright and actually hurting my eyes.

It'd run in a virtual root with a virtual registry, with a virtual set of services and startup tasks that the program may have set that get "booted up" along with the program. But no hardware would be emulated. It'd have access to the driver interface through the translation layer, just like Wine.

Of course, this would be more work for Microsoft, so they'd rather leave old kludges in to make sure shitty software some IT guy who knows nothing wrote in VB in 1996 works still, whether it means a less secure (and nowadays more complicated) OS or not.

Yeah, virtualizing XP seems to be the best answer. Continuing to have to support Windows XP after a point will become ludicrous, as much as I like to use it myself.

So, basically the "Windows XP Mode" thing Microsoft made available for free on Windows 7, where you run a special copy of WinXP in a virtual machine that integrates with the rest of the UI, so you can do pretty much what you both said?

Well thankfully, there is a tool that can be used to view and export the models used by Other M. You just have to use the old GameCube unpacking tools first... here is the tool in question.

Also, from the forum mentioned in the OP, someone found an alternate, completely unused texture set for Samus!

EDIT: Peardian, look here

Yes, EZBoard was great if you only had GeoCities or couldn't run Perl scripts on your web hosting. Then the people responsible for EZBread began changing everything, making it crap and terrible... however, around this time, there were more options for PHP-based message board software, like the GPL-licensed Invision Power Board.

Good news! SOPA has been seriously gutted. The only thing left in the bill is a provision that cuts off American money to foreign websites that sponsor piracy.
You can exhale now

On PIPA: It got gutted, too. Relevent quote:

The domain name blocking provision, as set forth in SOPA, would effectively censor foreign websites found hosting any amount of pirated content by requiring American ISP's to block access to them. In addition, the provision reportedly could have interfered with the DNSSEC, which helps protect the DNS system from attack.

Rep. Smith stated that the provision would remain tabled until the Congressional Judiciary Committee has had an opportunity to "further examine the issues." The Senate removed similar language from its competing Protect IP Act yesterday.

Meanwhile, the SOPA hearing for next Wednesday has been indefinitely delayed to address "outstanding concerns." Watch as it slowly rots away in committee!

The White House responds, which resulted in Rupert Murdoch having a shit-fit on Twitter.

Hope you realize it wasn't just piracy. Racketeering and money laundering are pretty serious charges, and the feds very very rarely bring a case unless they are sure they can convict (conviction rates in the 90th %)

Simply posting some stuff someone else found on GameFAQs (Peardian told me to do it)
My source is this thread.

Apparently these are two of the debug boards left over in the board layout files.

On this page he posted his tool (plus source down further) plus all of the board layout files extracted from the ISO. There are a total of 6 layouts named "debug": 3 for normal mode, 3 for simple mode. Another user picked up on researching and...

Strangely, o_peach.frb is the name of the simple mode Peach's Castle and o_2-07-hidari.frb is quite similar to the normal mode board but apparently unused (with a few differences to cut it down a bit, seems like it would work as a simple mode version of Peach's Castle). It's very strange that peach.frb simply does not exist. There are a great number of unused boards that have previously not been mentioned, including but not limited to a star shaped board, a mushroom shaped board, and a slightly different version of Alefgard (that uses square 0f that isn't used on any normal board).

So, people at GameFAQs have found:
-6 debug levels
-2 earlier revisions of levels
-many other unused levels

I can't seem to download it. I get a 404 error from Dropbox. Which is a shame since I really want to try this!

I've been using Windows 10 for a while now and I think it's fine. I quickly readjusted from the Start Screen back to the Start Menu.
Also, there ARE Service Packs, but they come a lot quicker now, and aren't called Service Packs. The first one released back in November and fixed the problem where you couldn't use any color but white for window border colors, among many MANY other fixes. Also, a new Skype client that has zero cruft that's simply called "Messaging".
The next major update will be hitting several months from now, codenamed "Redstone". The big change I can remember off the top of my head is the Edge browser is getting an extensions system similar to Chrome's.

The tools are old as dirt, but the old Nemesis tool suite has stuff to search ROMs for compressed data formats and then extract and decompress them. You can find them here.
