It greatly amuses me to see how people fail to grasp the actual workings of the Boston Tea Party (it was a protest of imperial Britain's tax on tea by dumping an entire shipment into the bay under the cover of darkness) and instead turn it into some wierd bizzaro protest that will do absolutely nothing except irk people and create bizzaro world where Fox News are the white knights of freedom, CNN are the assholes, and MSNBC are The Daily Show.

Simple as that, really. When you click the "Preview" link for an item like "Thief's Dagger" no preview appears. I suspect the apostrophe is not being properly escaped...

Quite a few unused things in this game have already been found by Ragey (as seen on this page with rips on this page) but I decided to do some more digging on my own to see what I could come up with.

Allow me to introduce you to SMUG MUG:

Early version of the HP Up item.

Also, two other unused icons, the second one being the old version of the "You can't buy this now" icon:


And here's some random scribbled japanese text (the filename states where I found it):

I don't read moonrunes, can someone here translate these? The bottom half appears in a bunch of other locations, too.

So I was poking around the insides of NSMB with Treeki's editor, and as I was looking at the tileset used by the first castle level of World 8, I noticed a ton of unused tiles... that Nintendo destroyed instead of deleted


It's the stuff covered in teal X marks... Maybe someone can restore the tiles?
