![]() Originally posted by CBOriginally posted by yde microsoft gets away with nickel-and-diming every aspect of xbox live because their console is the only one that has actually attempted to maintain an online community. also, they actually add features to the xbox. I chose the ps3 over it because it had so much potential, but all sony is interested in is disabling features and suing small businesses and nerds. I don't like xbox live, but it's certainly better than anything the ps3 offers (nothing). anyway, wii + pc gaming is more than enough for me. edit: Originally posted by Aerakin his comment wasn't "fanboyism" at all. probably because he said something more interesting than some vague comment about how every corporation sucks. Nintendo offers some pretty good stuff imo. ____________________ |

![]() Originally posted by AerakinOriginally posted by yde no it was not. he actually didn't say much of anything about the wii, he was just explaining why he felt xbox was no better than the ps3, which I think he brought up because I didn't make it clear what I preferred over sony's console. there are a lot of things about the wii I don't like. they haven't had a useful software update in ages, like you pointed out, and the virtual console has been disappointing in a lot of ways. no one at any point claimed that Nintendo was a perfect company, don't pretend otherwise. relax. ____________________ |

![]() I've finally dusted off my DS to play the latest Professor Layton game, and it's fun as hell. I've been out of the loop as far as the handheld goes and I was wondering what sort of games you guys recommend for it. New and old, I want to rebuild my collection, especially since the power's been going out a lot lately. I'm not too interested in RPG's.
Here's what's on my list: Picross 3D Mario Kart Mario 64 Meteos Bratz Ponyz Kirby Super Star Ultra So what are your favorites? ____________________ |

Originally posted by Rainbow DashOriginally posted by yde you can actually see it in the jul map http://valkyrie.rustedlogic.net/minecraft/map.png some places look okay, but when the bug was introduced, newly generated terrain created all of these rotated chunks. it's most apparent with the sand + grass parts. ____________________ |

![]() Originally posted by Teflon it's not optional to look at. these forced tie-ins and unfitting promo items are getting pretty tired. admittedly this latest thing isn't as offensive as, say, generic mmo fantasy weapons, but it's not going to stop. the tf2 developers used to have a "less is more" attitude, now they just throw in all this shit with no thought or reason. but yes the tf2 community is bratty, not arguing with you there. ![]() ____________________ |

![]() my laptop has bit the dust and I was thinking about just buying netbook, since I already have powerful desktop for gaming and other nonsense. I'm not certain if I want to completely give up the option of portable gaming though. are netbooks able to run small games decently, like snes emulation? less realistically, are there netbooks powerful enough to run minecraft, even at its lowest settings?
the thing that draws me to netbooks is that they are small and lightweight, so maybe I should just consider a tiny notebook. or is that the definition of a netbook? I'm so out of touch. I'll keep researching, but there are so many options available it's overwhelming. if anyone has any recommendations, that'd be great. ![]() ____________________ |

![]() I've been getting the drawing bug again, just in time for my two week vacation, and I really want to get a lot of practice in. I'm okay at it but I never seem to improve much, probably because I've never tried to do so. I also struggle with using colors effectively. I decided to check out what advice ConceptArt.org has to offer.
Anyway, we have a few artists here, I was wondering how you guys developed your skills. Did you use a lot of tutorials or references? How much of it would you say is natural talent? ____________________ |

![]() so I guess crafted items have become vintage now (not ones that dropped, purchased, or were traded), continuing tf2's trend of worthless updates.
why don't they make the polycount set hats "vintage" or "genuine" or "kosher" or whatever, and no longer require them for bonuses? ____________________ |
