Thank you.

I'm actually a regular from SMWC. Found jul, and noticed "Hey, I know people here".

So here I am.

I mainly hack DOOM WADs, but I can hack SMW a fair bit, and and work my way around Lazy Shell.

Thank you for the reception.

CORRECT.

The coat is actually reflective of the era in which Rodrigo "El Cid" Diaz (Castille), King Alfonso IV (Leon) and Ramon Berenguer (Barcelona) feuded with each other over total control of Spain. Found it inspiring.

The two eagles are a variant of the shield motif (2 lions, 2 castles). Castile and Leon; El Cid and Alfonso.

You know I debated this exact same thing in IRC. We're kinda lacking on the whole 'PC game hacking' bit just a tad. :\

Overall, though, I do like those level designs. It's been so long since I took WinDEU (NO CPU NOT HIM) and WAD Author and went for broke on levels...I mean it was when I was in high school and that was about seven or eight years ago.

I made a few between now and then, but I've not kept at it.

WAD editing/hacking, back in the day, was tedious and error-prone. With the release of DoomBuilder, editing a WAD and all it's aspects was made easier, and more feasbile.

...it's fun too. .

GRID MAP:

The grid doesn't do the map justice. You should see the lower right hand octagon room in 3D! Oh man will that be a sight.

Upon completion of map, I MAY...upload a vid.

Until then, sit tight.

Well, figured I'd try my hand at this. Let's see how this "experiment" fares.

=====================================================

-----------
Backdrop
-----------
-The RP takes place in the Castlevania: Circle of the Moon version of Dracula's castle. Use your imagination to imagine what it would look like in 3D, as whomever joins will venture through the castle. Here is a rendition:

-There is a specific "Ending" that I will allude to as the story progresses. Whomever plays along the best will win a prize. (I will not disclose prize info)

-Any characters I introduce in the story (Say, Ed the Groundskeeper), are controlled by me. (Eg: Say Ed were to greet you, and you would hit Ed with a shovel, killing him. I would then decide what to do with that character. Say he rises back up, and kicks the killer in the shin. If the person who killed Ed in the first place whines and complains and tries to overrule the command I set, that person's Character in this RP loses privelege to post in this RP.) It's hard to explain, but if the situation comes up, I'll outline it.

-3: Play nice.

And, now we begin:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is stormy outside. The gates to (formerly) Dracula's Castle are soaked in the falling waters. Atop the brick and mortar, sits The Director in the Clocktower (Hugh_8), wearing his suit, filing income statements while waiting for his $600 payment from his tenants in his Fourside Apartment Complex.

"I hope the word of the competiton reached everyone in the world of Jul" remarked The Director. "I need a new fundraiser to help promote lung cancer research, and those cheap apes down at Goldman wont even help me get a loan".

The Director looks out of the clocktower window, seeing everything ready for any potential visits. He grows hungrier, and decides to head down to the Underground Warehouse to find some meat to cook.

...a foreboding noise awaits at the gate.

I've discovered 3 seperate formulas for converting Decimal to Hex without extensive use of a calculator. I would like to share it for both debate, and reflection:

Bn=Hexadecimal Bit Value
D=Decimal #

We shall take 183 as an example:

STEP 1
B1= (D/16)
B1= (183/16) = 11.4375 (B)

STEP 2
Omit Decimal places, and keep whole number
11.4375 -----> 11

STEP 3
B2= (B1x16)
B2= (11x16) = 176

B3= (D-B2)
B3= (183-176)=7.

B1 is the First Bit Value
B2 helps find the subtractor value (The value to be subtracted from B1 to find B3)
B3 is the Second Bit Value

So, 183=B7.

To take another value, let's pick, say, 232.

B1=(232/16)= 14.5 (E)
B2=(14x16)= 224
B3=(232-224)=8

232=E8.

Unfortunately, the 3 equations are only good up to 256. I'll need more time to make use of each equation of use for numerals above 256 (Not necessarily for SMW, but for mental math challenges for fun).

I know I can get the Remainder to get B2, but this formula is optimized for calculator use. If doing work by hand, then B2= D%16 (Credit: HyperHacker).

Thoughts?

Desperate times...call for desperate draconian tactics.
Of course, most of us can see that with the situation posted.

We are truly...surrounded by cruel animals.

Finds the digits in reverse order, works well for me. Or did I fail to explain it? I have that habit.

That works too.

The beauty of math is, even though there is one answer, there are many ways to get there. Your method works just as well Madman.

EDIT:...hold on .

OH SHIT. Your Method works better. =p. (Eliminates a step.) Not bad dude.

Funny, that manager actually got fired, and deserved it. Largely because she started a rumor about an employee and also chewed one out for no reason. A bunch of people also got fired/quit afterwards, so now it's unnaturally quiet where I work.

Good lord. Is this what the business sector has come down to?

Well Pheetz, best of luck looking for a new job. Oddly enough, even in the bad economy, jobs are...sprouting...
