I'm also looking forward to slopes, but guys, I bet that anything we don't get in the release, we'll probably be getting as DLC. There's almost no way Nintendo won't make DLC for Mario Maker. Hopefully they'll be in the September release though.
Another thing that would be cool is a collectible like the Dragon coins of SMW and golden coins of NSMB. |

| I think this is a great idea with the potential of bringing some more activity to the board as a whole. I for one, almost never remember to visit some of the forums (like Art, for example) even though I'm sure sometimes there's some interesting stuff there. Merging things will inevitably increase visibility for everything, especially since as you said, the recent low activity will ensure there still won't be a situation where fringe stuff gets drowned out by the more casual threads. |

Is it just me or does the textarea for writing new replies seem to have shrunk in height?
It doesn't even fill up the table cell anymore (did it use to?) Maybe I'm misremembering |

I'm playing several games intermittently:
Skyward Sword - about 75%
Hyrule Warriors - Just done with the Adventure Map, DLC is next
Majora's Mask 3D - I just beat Stone Tower, but I haven't actually finished any of the other 3 dungeons (I did get the weapons though)
Pokemon Alpha Sapphire - restarting for more shiny Rayquaza
I've been really lazy with AS ... I bought it last year and I still haven't beaten it. Got to the fifth gym, backed up all my Pokemon to the bank and now I'm restarting for more Rayquaza |

http://www.myfoxboston.com/story/29860467/2-men-arrested-with-several-guns-near-pokemon-world-championship
BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) –Two men have been arrested after allegedly threatening violence to attendees at the Pokemon World Championship in Boston.
A release from the Boston Police Department says they were notified of the social media threats on Thursday and were able to stop the two suspects as they attempted to enter the event a few hours later. The men were not arrested at that time.
Detectives discovered that the two men had driven from Iowa with several guns in their vehicle that they did not have licenses for.
After obtaining a search warrant for the vehicle, police found a 12-gauge shotgun, an AR-15, several hundred rounds of ammunition and a hunting knife.
On Friday, arrest warrants were issued for 18-year-old Kevin Norton and 27-year-old James Stumbo and the men were taken in to custody at their hotel in Saugus.
"The relationship between police and private sector security is important in both our community policing philosophy, as well as our counter-terrorism strategy. This incident is a good example of private security reaching out to their local Boston police district and relaying information to detectives and BRIC analysts in order to identify the very real threat,” BPD Bureau of Intelligence and Analysis Commander Superintendent Paul Fitzgerald said.
Both men are charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and other firearm related offenses.
In a statement, the Pokemon Company said they were made aware of the threat after attendees notified them of posts on social media.
"Prior to the event this weekend, our community of players made us aware of a security issue. We gathered information and gave it as soon as possible to the authorities at the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center who acted swiftly and spearheaded communication with the Boston Police Department. Due to quick action, the potential threat was resolved. The Pokémon Company International takes the safety of our fans seriously and will continue to ensure proper security measures are a priority."
The FBI is assisting the Boston Police Department with this investigation.
Seriously, what the fuck is up with these people? I'm so glad the police was able to track them down and stop them in time, but still this is pretty scary. I wonder what the motive was. |

Recently I was playing Twilight Princess, and when I got to the "Ganon Beast“ part of the last battle (when Ganon is coming in and out of some portals) I realized how well the music worked to create an eerie atmosphere that tensed me up during the battle. I think this is one of the better boss themes in a Zelda game:

Omg yes! This is exactly the kind of music I was thinking about~ There's just something about it that really stands out beyond the other boss themes in the game. Bowser's Inside Story had some of the best music in the Mario and Luigi series.
Here's another really good one, IMO:
<object width="375" height="281"><embed width="475" height="381" wmode="window" allowfullscreen="true" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/4E-WXevIOJQ&showsearch=0&fs=1&rel=0&autoplay=0&ap=%2526fmt%3D18"></embed></object>
Though, I guess I've been leaning more toward the "creepy" atmosphere kind of music, so to counteract that, here's the final boss theme from Super Mario Galaxy. I think the vocals make it so much more HYPE:

I probably will upgrade at some point, but right now it's out of the question. The privacy issues surrounding it are a bit annoying but it doesn't bother me too much. What bothers me is the forced updates. I really won't want to be forced to update my PC and then have it get bricked due to a faulty driver update or whatever. I need this laptop for work so I really shouldn't risk it.
I do remember reading the new DirectX updates are pretty amazing, so there's that for an incentive. Maybe I'll upgrade when it has stabilized - so after a year or so. |

But, actually, I changed board themes and now it's fine. I guess it's a problem with Pinstripe Blue. |

| Hm, it shows up just fine for me. But I had to recreate the old syntax since YouTube now uses iframes by default and those get filtered out here. I wonder if we could standardize it by getting a YouTube BBCode (like [youtube=vid]) |

This involves more but if we get a [youtube] BB code then we could also get an option on the user profile for what it resolves to: Link to video vs. iframe embed. Then everyone is happy and we get HTML5 videos too |

I'm watching my boyfriend play Minish Cap. I didn't realize how easy that game is until I saw him play it with such ease. A Link to the Past nearly drove him insane.
Enemies barely do any damage in Minish Cap whereas in LTTP even weak looking enemies devastate Link. |

Did you completely miss the fact that you got 4000 posts or something or do you simply not care? Hm, I played Minish Cap once and I never noticed that. I guess I should play it a little more.
Plus, I wonder if anyone has played the BS-X Zelda (translated as BS-X Zelda Ancient Stone Tablets) on emulators, of course, no one can play it on the Satellaview anymore. I feel like it was way more difficult than LttP, because not only everything changed locations, they put a time limit too. The full game cannot take more than around 3 hours to beat. Actually, I might try playing it again sometime soon.
I did totally miss the fact that that was my 4000th post. I knew it was coming, but I honestly didn't pay attention.
I've only played BS Zelda via Zelda Classic so it's not quite the same, but I didn't think it was too bad. |

Can you find me a source on that? I can't find anything about it. Do you mean it can't play MIDI files without third party software? Or are you referring to something else? |

So I'm making worlds, but I think my first world is a little too easy so I've decided not to upload it yet. Instead, I'm uploading my athletic themed / sky-themed second world: "Koopa Hills!"
Here's the codes:
Koopa Hills 1 - 50E3-0000-0031-ED4D
Koopa Hills 2 - D1D4-0000-0031-EF4B
Koopa Hills 3 - BC98-0000-0031-F566
Koopas in the Sky - 2103-0000-0031-FF0A
They're all using the SMW and SMB3 themes. I fear I might have been a bit too bland but oh well |

This is technically world 3, but since I didn't upload world 1 (probably too easy), this is my second uploaded world. It's water themed, and a mix of NSMB, SMB3, and SMW. Here's the codes:
Fishy Sea 1 - E682-0000-003E-9910
Fishy Sea 2 - 8310-0000-003E-99CE
Fishy Sea 3 - 90C9-0000-003E-9A9D
Fishy Sea 4 - 0707-0000-003E-9B22
