I only have a small blanket but I like going to sleep with warm clothing on and I just wrap myself in everything - I just find it so much more comfortable to sleep in a frigid room. Haha...

Oh my, that all looks really good! I can't wait for my extended trip to China next year!

I'm tired of being fed potatoes and pizza everyday at the school cafeteria... stupid American food!

So, now I have a Chinese boyfriend. He doesn't speak much English, so we've been communicating almost entirely in Mandarin (except when he wants to practice his English then we switch for a bit).

I knew this was going to happen eventually.

If all goes well, then next year I will be going to Beijing around late August and I will be staying in China until late June 2014. During the 2 months or so of the Spring Festival, I'll be going to Harbin for a Winter festival, to Shanghai, and possibly to Hangzhou, Nanjing, Fuzhou, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Macau.

I am already super excited!!

So, Chinese is the only class where I can literally spend the entire day studying for and not go insane or even mind it. Haha. It feels like it was a lazy day of no studying, actually! I don't even have to study for it, I'm already ahead of everyone else but welp!

Well, looks like someone's gotten ahead of us

Mexico's Supreme Court has ruled that a law in southern Oaxaca state that bans same-sex marriages is unconstitutional, paving the way for same-sex couples to marry in that state and possibly in the rest of Mexico.

In a unanimous decision on Wednesday, the tribunal struck down a Oaxaca state law that declares that "one of the purposes of marriage is the perpetuation of the species."

The court said in its ruling that to condition marriages to the union of one man and one woman "violates the principle of equality."

Currently, same-sex marriage is only legally allowed in Mexico City, where a same-sex marriage law was enacted in 2010.

The court's ruling comes from a lawsuit filed by three gay couples against the state of Oaxaca.

Apparently, the Mexican supreme court does not have the power to invalidate state laws en masse over one case in one state like SCOTUS does, but this will almost certainly guarantee that couples will sue in most other states to get it legalized there.

My new roommate looks just like Treeki and speaks just like MM88. He also uses Windows XP with a Teen Titans background and draws fan art, goes to forums, plays video games, is really quiet but super super talkative when you strike a conversation, among other cool traits. Such an improvement from my previous roommate!
