| I find it quite humorous. The idea of doing a stupid-simple game and having a extolling song singing your praises for at least ten times the duration of the game itself is actually pretty funny.
I really don't think they were trying to do anything else but that particular gag. I don't see a point in making a big deal out of it. EDIT: Yes, I accidentally spelled it "stuipd"... |

| Getting off of one's butt and getting a job aside, I actually do want to get a good microphone for recording things. Not just voice, but that'd be a big application for this particular purpose.
These are some of the things I want in a microphone: • High quality input. Some microphones sound like tin cans. • Broad frequency response. High, chirpy sounds and low, rumbly sounds need to get captured. • Price isn't a huge issue, but I'd like something less than, say, $50. • Preferably mountable in some way. Anyone have any suggestions? |

Originally posted by Brawl Dojo Hey, he missed one! I don't know what the probibility is, but occasionally this move produces a Capsule, which of course will contain an item. The very first time I did this, I was right next to my opponent and the Capsule broke before I saw it. A Smash Ball came out. I was like "Huh? Dedede produces Smash Balls?" EDIT: If 35:10:4 is scaled up by a factor of two, it produces 70:20:8, which amounts to 98/100. If this is true, then the Capsule has a 2/100 chance of appearing, which would make the total ratio 35:10:4:1 |

| Might be like Peach's Vegetable, but with random items instead of just Mr. Saturn and Beam Sword. |

Hey, wait a sec. I simply volunteered myself to be a dummy placeholder in the event of three finalists. You know, so I can swoop in and grasp victory in just the last two matches. ![]() |

| Of much greater interest than treating cancer is preventing it altogether. I've done some independent research as well as a friend of mine, and we've found that the majority of cancer patients we talk to have had an appendectomy. It's just a correlation at this point, but it seems to suggest that the unknown functionality of the appendix might be to prevent cancer. |

| I'm last in line, actually. I only volunteer myself as a last-ditch effort, so use up the rest of the cannon fodder first. |

| You really do need to use header files. Technically, the compiler only looks at one file at a time.
• If one file uses a function defined in another file, the compiler doesn't care. All the compiler needs to know is what kinds of arguments the function takes and what its return type is. That's all it needs to know when you compile. • When the linker does its job, it matches up the function calls from the first file to the actual function definition in the other. All this means is that you need to have all files together at time of build; but not at time of compile. It's kinda strange to grasp coming from one of Microsoft's chunkier development environments, but C/C++ "projects" aren't really projects so much as simple file lists that tell the compiler what it needs to successfully build the executable. |

| I usually work in C, so my header file memory is a bit lacking, but... Don't you need iostream.h to use cout, <<, etc.? |

| I'm still working on those last 41 Stickers. Other than that, I've done everything in the game. Caught all trophies in Subspace Emissary, completed adventure 100%, beat Boss Battles on Intense... I haven't even used any Golden Hammers! |

| Flash Player 9 is required. The game's really not all that heavyweight. |

| Yay for DOSBox! It never occurred to me before to look up an alternative to the typical "MS-DOS Prompt," and I've always been saddened that my older games don't run on Windows. Well, now they do!
I've scrounged up my collection of old Lemmings titles. I stopped buying them once DMA gave up the rights to the property to Psygnosis (and eventually Sony), and it's just as well because all the ones released since then weren't as good. DMA Design, now Rockstar North, is known for various classics such as Grand Theft Auto, Body Harvest, and one of my personal favorites, Uniracers. DOSBox has a handy recording mechanism, so I used it: This particular video comes from The Lemmings Chronicles; Classic stage 25. With its assortment of careful planning mixed with just enough of each tool to get you through, I really feel that this stage in particular is a good example of what Lemmings is all about. And hey, for once YouTube didn't screw over the video quality! Gotta love clips with little movement. For someone like me, Lemmings represents a time where video games were built more for enjoying simply playing the game instead of admiring the audio and graphics. The twists they pulled on old-fashioned music really made the soundtrack memorable, and every time the musics come to mind, I'm reminded of the era where jagged pixels were A-OK. Well, no reason to dwell in the past. DOSBox lets Lemmings live! Anyone have any stories or comments about Lemmings they'd like to share? P.S.: As an honorable mention, I should probably say something about Lemmings 2: The Tribes. It is by far the most colorful game in the series, and really deserves more attention than it got. A tasty bit of trivia is that many of the musics were completely replaced in the SNES port in favor of more driving tunes that make it more bearable to listen to for longer sessions. |

| It took me about a week to unlock all the Melee stuff, but a little less than a month to finish all the non-collection stuff in Brawl (which was completing All-Star with all characters for me; I'm not counting stickers and trophies and such). Where there are more characters, there are longer "with everyone" tasks. |

| Incidentally, I started hacking the Lemmings Chronicles level format yesterday. Older games are easy to crack because they put everything in its own uncompressed, conveniently-labeled file. In just three hours, I had enough information to make a level editor.
That DS port of Lemmings is inspiring. Me gonna look into a flash card and do my own Lemmings Chronicles port eventually. Complete with send-it-to-your-friends level creator! EDIT: In regards to my idea for a DS Chronicles: internet multiplay, anyone? I'm liking this idea more and more. ![]() |
