Nah. We were split up 3 and 3 at different houses at the time. My sister had to go first, and when I had to go my dad was already in the bathroom but he didn't take long. That was when I asked everyone if they had gone all trip and they said no. That made me want to call up the others to ask them the same thing, and that's when I found out it had happened to all 6 of us. Also, some of us ate healthier than the others and it still ended up this way. My dad and I ate the heaviest, but two of my sisters practically ate nothing but salads and fish. Still ended up doing the same thing.

And we took several restroom breaks both on vacation and on the road, so it's not like our body "forgot" because we were sitting too long. Whenever we stood up, we had to use the restroom, just no BM. I don't know, our family must be weird.

Also Terra, I do the same thing when I get nervous. I think is has something to do with your muscles being more tense than normal. That or somehow your body associates that with "relief" and is trying to make you go to help calm the stress. When I get stressed, I have to pee constantly, and I can't eat anything to save my life. There have been particularly stressful times in my life when I have gone 3 days without eating.

Yeah I hate how suspension is a "one size fits all" punishment, and to the kids who pull serious crap, it's no punishment at all it's a reward! They need to go back to sending kids to the work farm if they fuck up too much. Wanna beat up other kids and not go to school? Fine, here's some hardcore manual labor bitch. Enjoy.

I was lucky. Even though I went to what is considered to be some of the most ghetto schools here, I never had to worry about bullying. There were a few cliques in middle school, but high school had a real sense of camaraderie to it. There weren't really any cliques and I hung out with everyone under the sun. If someone ever did get their ass beat, it was usually because they either deserved it, or severely pissed someone off. Even then, the fight would never last long, usually ended after the yelling stage, and they always took place in a designated spot.

The teachers really seemed to care about the students too and truly wanted them to succeed. Unfortunately, the whole place was a victim of our screwed up educational system. We could never get funding because we were the "ghetto" school that no one wanted to support. And we had so many kids that were so low on the chain by the time they got there that everything had to cater to the lowest common denominator. Even the honors classes really didn't prepare you for anything. You knew that no one there was expected to succeed just because of the school they went to. Ugh. At least now I know how to educate myself.

Actually that theory has some truth if the bees die out and we can't find a way to easily pollinate everything that the bees usually pollinate. Sure they are not the only source of pollination for most plants, but they are a main one and in some cases the best one. No/poor pollination equals a majority of the plants that both we, and animals we eat, need to survive dying off. So bees dying equals potential severe disruption in the food chain and/or mass extinction of plant and animal species if nothing is done to fix the pollination problem over a long period of time. Of course by that point we'll probably just spray everything with chemicals or something Still, it's a situation that's best avoided, and I hope the bees don't die out.

Well I don't give a shit what they call it. All I know is that I like it This is a complete nostalgia trip for me! I like how its like a combination of all the best past games only modernized. Essentially, the NSMB treatment which IMO, this series has needed desperately. I even like the physics although parts of them do take some getting used to (like why do you suddenly run out of momentum mid jump?) Anyway, I'm happy with this, and I can't wait for episode 2!

I usually download my music, organize it into long ass compilations that tell a story that probably only makes sense to me, and then either listen to it in the car or while I'm walking. I mainly listen to music in the car though.

I live in the suburbs. Cats, bunnies, squirrels, a ton of canadian geese (seriously they've about taken over the state), ducks, dogs, opossums, raccoons, deer, bees, mosquitoes, ants, spiders, brown recluse spiders, flies, gnats et all, monarch butterflies, ladybugs (there was a a year when EVERYWHERE was infested with those orange ladybugs that bite ), and lately, bedbugs. Several cities including mine are in the middle of a really bad bedbug epidemic. Oh and of course birds, mainly morning doves, robins, cardinals, crows, geese as I've already mentioned, falcons, hawks, starlings, pigeons, and finches. Occasionally I've seen red-winged black birds too, and around the zoo you can find chipmunks. We're also supposed to have snakes around here, but I've never seen one out in wild, and occasionally you can find bats.

Posted on 10-15-10 08:45:43 AM, in Mental conditions Link
You know, I bet that if everyone in the world went to see a psychiatrist, we'd all come out diagnosed with 10+ "disorders" that need money to be treated. I'm not saying that no one here has a disorder. Some are in fact quite serious. But it seems that most "disorders" that people have are just blanket terms for them being a little different, and/or having trouble coping with life. People always want to link that to there being "something wrong" with them, when its more than likely perfectly natural and just a part of their own personality.

With that in mind, I consider myself disorder free and as normal as any other human brain. But if someone wanted to get paid by diagnosing me with a mental disorder, they could probably pin me with depression since I listen to sad music and think about death a lot, social anxiety disorder since I'm pretty anti-social and have this constant thing where I fear being judged by others, speaking of which there has to be an official phobia for that so whatever phobia that "fear of judgment" is, you could also throw in "fear of rape" since I kind of have to be cautious walking alone at night in the part of town I live in, but I don't call that a fear as much as necessary precaution due to this sick sad world, oh yeah and misanthropy since there are many times that I despise the human race in general. I'm also immune to nearly every advertising tactic imaginable, and I actually consider myself to be intelligent and despise the stuff that caters to the lowest common denominator, so by definition and especially by American standards I'm completely abnormal and a possible disrupter to society. I'm also not big on authority figures or government agencies especially when they are obviously power hungry and corrupt, though I have no problem being a leader myself, or respecting other leaders I must associate with. I guess I'm also bat shit insane by most people's standards since I have absolutely no desire to be "just like everyone else" and I like solitude. I also have tendencies to be both a perfectionist and incredibly lazy, so do with that what you will. And above all else, since I refuse to acknowledge any of this as a "disorder" and merely a part of my own unique psyche, I guess you could stick me with denial too.

I hate using t9. I have a very basic pre pay phone with just a numpad that I only put $25 on every three months, and I would put on even less, but that's the minimum to maintain service. this phone is more than enough for me. I mostly use my phone as a clock and to do list, and I only have it so my family has a way to contact me if they need to, or if I have an emergency. That said, I definitely text on it far more than I talk, but even then its not that much, and I only text two people. I text either while I am bored on work breaks, or if I need to find out some information from my sister since she's usually not in a position where she can chat on the phone easily. I get 300 texts a month for $5 a month which is way more than I ever use, so for the most part that means that texting is cheaper for me than talking. I also hate talking on the phone in general, so texting is usually the way I go.

Um, Ohio is pretty much nothing but massive farmlands sprinkled with ghettos every here and there, and every one in a while you actually find civilization. Not sure we have anything that counts as a tourist attraction. Unless you count the mounds, live shows, amusement parks (like Kings Island a cedar Point), museums, caverns, zoos, parks, fireworks displays and downtown shit. In that case, yeah I do make an effort to experience as much as I can near where I live, but I don't really consider those things tourist attractions as much as they are just stuff for us to do.

If you are put off by the video, remember that the momentum thing is solved if you just hold right, and most of that stuff you have to actually try to do. The problem is that at first, manually maintaining momentum is counterintuitive because you never had to do that in a previous Sonic game. Plus if you think that Sonic takes too long to get to top speed, you can solve that by double jumping. Double jumping a lot will get you to go twice as fast as the running shoes, so you really have complete control over your speed in a weird way. I'm enjoying the crap out this game despite the crappy physics because they are easy to work around. But like Metal Man said, you will either hate the game because of the physics, or you will enjoy the game in spite of the physics.

Also, to whoever beat this in two hours, uh, isn't that how long it would take to beat the first 4 stages of any 2d sonic game? I mean each stage has 3 acts, and each act must be completed in under 10 minutes, so that means that each stage takes a maximum of 30 minutes to complete. Therefore four 30 minute stages equal 2 hours of gameplay max. Considering that most of us beat each act at well under the 10 minute mark, even with collecting all of the chaos emeralds, any classic Sonic game could be beaten through stage 4 in well under 2 hours The only way it would take you longer is if you continually died A LOT in each act so that each act took you more than 10 minutes to complete, and if that's the case then the game is either too hard, or you suck at gaming. The fact that it took you 2 hours just to half ass you way through the stages of Sonic 4 proves that it actually takes LONGER to complete than the 3 classic genesis games. Remember that his is not the whole game, but only the first 4 stages. If you didn't enjoy playing though, then yeah that's a legitimate matter of taste.

Posted on 10-17-10 11:53:09 PM, in Do you "hear" Colors? Link
So am I the only one who associates colors with songs? By that, I mean that I see images with every song I hear, so it's kind of like I have my own music video in my head, but it's like either that music video has a predominant color hue, or many thing in that video are a specific color.

For instance, this song is a dark forest green. I don't see gray at all if I'm just listening to this song without the video despite it's official video being purely gray. This song makes me think of dark forests and cliffs by the ocean, so I associate it with dark green, dark blue, and black.

On the other hand, this song is orange for me. There is no reason I can think of as to why it's orange, but everything I see in my mind with this song has an orange hue to it, almost desert like in a way.

And then there's this song which is black, pink, and blue. Again, no reason why. That's just what I see.

I have color associations for practically every song I hear. Some more strongly than others, but still for practically every song. Does anyone else "hear" colors like this?

Yeah as stated earlier this isn't like synesthesia. This is a cross between association and the fact that my mind sees very detailed imagery when listening to music. It's hard to describe without sounding like synesthesia, but it's really nothing like that. It's more like my mind associates certain songs with certain distinct imagery, and that imagery tends to have a color theme. Here's some better examples.

This is a song that I always associate with it's official music video. Everytime I hear it, I see this official video playing. Therefore I associate this song with green.

This song is about a man who's the last of the human race stranded on Mars after the earth is destroyed, therefore I see a lot of Mars and space imagery along with the entire story unfolding when I hear this song. So this song is mainly red and black, and whatever else color Mars is.

Then in the case of that "Tides of Time" song I already posted, it isn't just that the song is orange. I see a whole music video in my mind that mainly consists of the band playing their guts out against beautiful scenery that's also kind of stark, like plateaus in a desert at dawn, or the grand canyon or something, and on top of that the color is emphasized like everything was filmed through a warming filter, and everything has a very dreamy yet powerful feel to it. This makes the imagery look very orange, but there's a lot more to it than that.

I swear if I can just find a way to get all of this imagery in head out onto some medium, I'd make a fortune.

I think this is a great idea and I can't wait for it to launch. I also like how they are inviting user input for everything. I imagine this will be like a gametrailers that doesn't completely suck and is awesome instead. Here's to this site going well!

Ok yay! I may be in the minority, but the main thing that made the old school sonics appealing to me was their music! That's also one of the main reasons why I'm not into much modern gaming, most of music either sucks or just doesn't have a distinct beat or melody. That song is awesome by modern game standards, and I love that it is heavier! Seriously, if the music is awesome in this game, the rest of it can completely suck and I'll still have a blast with it.
