Awesome new title screen Golden Yoshi. The SMW2+2 text looks far better than in your older version were plus was spelled out.

Also, I finally got screenshots for 1-8. I took a long break from YI hacking but Golden Yoshi's hack got me motivated to finish the rest of my level.

Without further ado, here is 1-8:

1-8: Salvo's Tower



Since this is a tower, it is a vertical level. Yoshi must climb the tower while avoiding walking cannons and other foes.



Be careful when riding the platform to the top. There are Blowhards waiting for you to appear.



Once you manage to get to the roof, Thunder Lakitu will ambush you. He knew you were coming because Kamek informed him. Make it to the other side of the roof while avoiding his attacks. The roof is pretty sturdy so don't worry too much about falling stone blocks.

I won't reveal the second half of the tower where you start climbing down but I'll reveal the edited Salvo fight:



Added those red blocks that change colors as you hit them. Don't bother getting rid of all those blocks in attempt to kill Salvo because it can defy gravity. Also, it would just make the fight much harder.

The demo to this hack is coming really close. I will have an Extra Level playable along with the other 8 stages. Hopefully, I can release the demo by the end of the year although I can't really make any promises.

Most of my showers take less than 5 minutes. I get my business done in the shower as soon as possible and continue what I was doing before showering.

The only times I take longer showers is when I'm really tired and don't feel like leaving the shower once I get in.

I had semester finals last week. They used to be before the Christmas break but the school distract decided to start doing them after the break. That adds one more reason why I didn't want my Christmas break to end.

At least I don't have to worry about doing that again seeing as this is my last year in high school.

Kattwah and I finished are match earlier today in a best 2 out of 3 stock match of 4 lives. I won the first two so there was no need to do a third match. Both of them were really close matches.

That third match with NightKev was insane on Shadow Moses Island. Close to the end of the match, he threw a bumper at the middle of the bottom floor and I ended getting bounced back and forth between the bumper and the watch tower at a high percentage. After it disappeared, I get KOed by NightKev before I can actually move again. It was very random and funny at the same time.

Am I the only one who calls them jump drives?

Anyway, I have only one right now which is a 256 MB one. I keep it in my wallet almost all the time. As of now, I only use it exclusively for school mainly because the school's computer has the copy.exe virus. I got tired of having to fix it everytime I got home so I just keep that jump drive away from my computer until the day I graduate which is really soon.

Yes, the one world demo is finally here after very slow progress has been made over many months. Here's a few features of my hack in a nutshell.

- Nine brand new levels. The eight standard levels as well as the hidden extra level of world one are present. See if you can unlock the extra level!

- Edited boss fights for a new challenge against classic bosses. Both Burt the Bashful and Salvo the Slime have their battles slightly tweaked.

- There is a day and night cycle here. If you notice as you progress through World 1, the game shifts from early morning when Yoshi immediately departs after finding Baby Mario to late evening when you are on the rooftop of Salvo's Tower. Extra levels won't be affected by this though. Fun fact, the name of the hack came from the idea of that cycle. It is suppose to take days for Yoshi to reach Bowser's Castle on foot.

- Every extra level is going to have new Yoshi colors instead of the default green Yoshi. Also, each extra level will have a unique Yoshi color exclusive to the level.

Couple of things to go over:

First of all, please patch this to a version 1.0 (U) Yoshi Island ROM. Most of you should know that by now. Finally, my special thanks goes to these people:

SNN: Inspired me to hack Yoshi's Island after beta testing a 4 world demo of his hack late 2006. Also, helped me get started with my hack as well as beta testing it. He was the only person I could really turn to until he introduced me to Golden Yoshi later on.

Golden Yoshi: Provided excellent feedback for my hack and is an excellent beta tester too. He helped me get rid of the vertical parallel glitch which would have caused a nightmare for perfectionists because this glitch makes flowers and red coins disappear if you leave the screen and come back later. The second half of world one was full of this glitch.

Squash Monster: Created Eggvine so he automatically earns a spot on the list.

Mattrizzle: He is here because of his contribution to the YI scene by finding a bunch of offsets for this game. He also helped Golden Yoshi install custom Yoshi colors in his hack who then taught me how to install the colors into my hack.

Romi: I have him on the list for finding out how to disable those annoying messages you get in World 1 when you start a brand new game. Stuff like explaining what a mid-ring does to collect the five flowers message no longer appear now thanks to him.

I got a time of around 1:49 in the tourney. I got extremely lucky for not getting hit by anything. Unfortunately, I couldn't submit the record thanks to an error code.

Eh, I'll try resubmitting tomorrow. I have a question though. Does your best time get submitted to Nintendo WFC even after you played the track more than once? I know for a fact that I won't be able to get a good time like 1:49 again due to how much luck you need to have.

Wow, Reminox can sure take a hit. It only did 17 damage which is pretty mediocre compared to when the Top Bros. was used against BG Bandit.

Also, it sucks for BG Bandit who took almost the same amount damage from the friendly fire.
