| I've done San Antonio to Dallas, a roughly 4-5 hour trip by car, for under $80 by bus if I'm remembering correctly. Round trip, no less. |

Yeah, seriously! I used Greyhound often in Texas...surely they have that here too, I think I even saw the LA Greyhound station...hm. Though to be fair, most stuff was cheaper in Texas ![]() |

| Ah, sweet. I've been looking for a 16-bit style shamisen in general that doesn't sound like complete ass (looking at you, Parodius) so I'll have to check that out. Thanks! |

| You're also forgetting that the original video game crash was a result of an over-saturated market. There are currently only really three main console producers/consoles as opposed to eighty dozen barely different things. Even though there's a lot of similar games out there right now, it is not at all like it was back in the day. That's not to say that I'm not displeased by "mainstream" gaming--and I'm not a fanboy, despite what every single person is going to say, but I really don't much care for MS and Sony simply BECAUSE all of the games that feel stale and similar--namely FPSes and games relying almost entirely on cutscenes with minimal action in between--seem to appear largely on those consoles. Say what you will about Nintendo, but I have always loved them because if nothing else they are different--even if you think they are just rehashing their own things a lot, at least whatever their own things are is something significantly different from other titles on the market these days. Also some of the most unique and fun games I've ever played have appeared exclusively on Nintendo systems (I'm looking at you, Drill Dozer)... of course that's not to say other consoles haven't had their share of this as well, a huge example being Little Big Planet...but when it comes down to it, Nintendo just seems to have so much MORE of these kinds of titles than the other consoles do. |

| again, I will mention Drill Dozer. It was a very creative platformer that not only brought a whole new set of mechanics to the table but a unique setting, world, characters and story. For whatever reason, the game did very poorly both domestically and in the US, apparently. It goes to show you that a creative game is not always what's gonna sell, and until we change that pattern, things are going to be as stale as ever. It isn't a problem with the game developers per say--in that case, it would actually be the CONSUMERS who clearly do not foster that kind of creativity as openly as they once did. This is of course a broad statement and I'm generalizing to the extreme here. |

I guess my feeling is that the genre is in fact becoming oversaturated with stuff like CoD, like you were saying--though that's not to say I only feel this way BECAUSE of what sort of game they are. I would have just as many problems with it if the market were saturated with generic J-RPGs as well, for instance. |

I identify as fully italian, despite insignificant amounts of asian ancestry from some biological relative (I was adopted, and could pretty much care less about my origins to be completely honest, and let's drop it at that) ... being as, well, fucking look at me, I'm quite italian in appearance not to mention having been raised by Italians and growing up in a large Italian family, yeah. That is very much my identity ![]() in other words, nope, not hispanic, but hey, at least I can make some killer Eurobeat/pizza/wine/naked man statues/advances in plumbing |

Wow, a vanilla Mario hack that's both creative, fun, AND not stupidly difficult for the sake of it? You really should be commended for this great work |
