Originally posted by Peardian Gill Sans MT often comes with Microsoft Office. If you don't have Office, you probably don't have it, although I know there are "free" downloads of it available. I am pretty sure Gill Sans pre-dates your system: it was released in 1928. It is a very British typeface, having been used in the rail system, a lot of Penguin Books paperbacks, the BBC, and more recently the British Government. -------------------- |

I removed over 150 contacts from Facebook. People on this forum will be amongst them. Sorry: I'm just not interested in persisting with relationships where no-one engages with anyone. All it leads to is me being overwhelmed by updates, and thus also not engaging with anyone. So, for everyone's sanity (but mostly mine), I've cleaned up. -------------------- |

I really like Serif fonts too, although I don't tend to use them on the web a lot (besides Georgia). My favourite would have to be Sabon. -------------------- |

I swear I already posted this, but I think my brain might be shorting out or something. Working with Photoshop techniques: notably enhancing photographs with the pen tool. ![]() -------------------- |

Colin: no, I did not attempt to save face. I just went red in the face. I've since gotten over it, but then I've also since met a woman who lets their cat play with a vibrator. It's great when the cat bats it into the room at parties! -------------------- |

I just learned that a sandwich exists where: The bread is French Toast, with ham and cheese sandwiched between two slices… …then the entire thing is battered and deep fried. This broke my brain in an entirely different way to how it was broken earlier. -------------------- |

Originally posted by Xkeeper Ehh, not quite. It's supposed to fix some of the shortcomings of email specifically. Particularly in office situations where a group of people are continually CC'd on a message and then someone forgets to CC someone on one… the invite thing is supposed to fix that. But right now I find it slow and laggy and messy. It may have some very good uses, but fighting the current interface lag (and crash) means it's useless. At least, it's useless right now. It will be useful later, I'm sure. Oh, and I'm entirely out of invites. Was fun. -------------------- |

To answer the poll question: Grass grows, birds sing, the sun shines… and brother… I hurt people. Or I try, anyway. This is the first time I've ever really played a multiplayer FPS game, and as of yesterday the first time I've ever played any FPS online. In the 16 years since I first picked up a FPS, I've not exactly played them a lot. Early FPS games gave me motion sickness. Thankfully, newer ones don't give me that problem: if they did, I couldn't play as the Scout. -------------------- |

Steam ID is Tarale. Have had it for a while, but never used it until yesterday. Derek bought me Team Fortress 2 for my birthday: playing it was a condition of getting thai food to celebrate the day. -------------------- |

If something's up her arse, she needs a proctologist. She'd need a gynaecologist if it were stuck up her pussy. On a more serious matter, yes, talk to her. As BlackNemesis13 says, you will need to be as calm as possible when you do so. Invite her to spend Christmas with the rest of you, if that's at all possible. Tell her you and everyone else would love it if she came and spent Christmas together. I have to try to juggle my Mum's side of the family, my Dad's side of the family, my Step-Dad's side of the family, and my partner's side of the family, all in the one day. You can't please everyone, but if you can get them to all try to pool to the one spot it helps a lot.-------------------- |

I've been fighting this for well over a year, maybe a year and a half now. The announcement from Senator Conroy that the trial was a success and that they were going ahead with legislation was not a surprise, but it still made me plenty angry. The trial is massively flawed. The scope is far too wide. It should never be mandatory to begin with. I'd have no problem if it were an opt-in solution, so families could select it if they wanted. Write to your minister. Write to your minister. Properly. Don't waste your time, waste theirs: A guide to writing to ministers. Make some posters and stick them up in your school, your local library, on your shopping centre community noticeboard, and anywhere else you can. If you're on Twitter, the hashtag is #nocleanfeed (and #openinternet is gaining traction too). And protest. I don't know when the next protest will be in Adelaide, but we've already had two (the last one was a long time ago though) and I think it's high time we had another. Tell everyone you know about it. Make it clear that this filter won't protect children. That's what the Government is claiming it will do, but the filter will do absolutely NOTHING to stop pedophiles, online predators, cyberbullying, viruses, spam, or identity theft. The filter offers parents nothing more than a false sense of security. And the christian lobby is already asking for the scope to be increased to include all pornography. -------------------- |

Originally posted by Xenesis See, I've been told NOT to play on the Internode servers, at least, not till I'm more confident and have a bit more practice under my belt. I've been playing in small groups with friends at the moment. Plus, when some of them are in my flat, I can swear my head off at my opponents. The server kept reminding me that I shouldn't actually do this on the server... -------------------- |
