I'll have to admit that I'm very good at wrapping presents.

I didn't put much effort in this year, but I often not only wrap the present, but put on nice ribbon and stuff too. I like to be creative with how I put the ribbon on too, they're never the same.

I tend to like wrapping birthday presents more than Christmas presents, because I like to find paper and ribbon that complement each other nicely. At Christmas time it's easier for me to just keep using the giant roll of Christmas paper I have in my spare room.

We tend to do it on Christmas Day, before heading out to all the family events that are on. Generally my brother and I go to Mum's place and when we're all there we do it.

Then we head out to wherever we're going (this year my step-Uncle's first, then my Aunt's) and eat all the food

Here they don't seem to be able to advertise in the same way. We get a couple of advertisements for over-the-counter treatments, such as Panadol (paracetamol / acetaminophen) and other mild pain relievers, some antacids, and multi-vitamins.

They don't advertise a whole lot else. I understand that in the United States they are permitted to advertise anti-depressant medication for example, but I've never seen an advert for one in Australia.

At this stage I'm catching up with one of my friends for some drinks. I think we're just going to her house for a barbecue.

Because her place is a long way away from mine, I wonder if I'll be staying the night. It's a long drive back.

I have lots of vivid dreams—especially lately—but I don't tend to write them down. I probably should, but I don't know when I'd get the time.

Recently I did decide on the Christmas present I was getting for someone in my dreams though

I know the full name of everyone on my Instant Messaging lists, except for one person: Xkeeper

Course, there is only 34 people on the list at the moment.

I just thought it was interesting. I've been fairly open about my own name, and I found it fairly easy to find others' names. I just don't think I've ever seen Xkeeper's

I went through and deleted a bunch of people I haven't talked to for ages.

This reminds me of the thing (I think now fixed) in Google Maps, where you can ask for directions from New York to London... and it tells you to swim.

I think it might be in my spare room, along with about four computers that I'm neglecting, and a bunch of cables I hold on to "just in case".

No, a 3 year old wouldn't. Kids that young don't yet recognise the link between eating something and feeling sick.

Well, I was going to my friend's place, but I've found out now that that's been cancelled as not many people RSVP'd. So... now I've nothing I'm doing. I'm not sure what some of my other friends are doing but several live too far away or I don't think I should impose on them.

I will probably buy some nice food on the way home, and have a quiet evening I guess with some cider. I'm not the kind of person that goes into the City by herself on New Year's Eve.

In fact, after work I shall be leaving the CBD as fast as the bus can get me out of here.

The two most common imaginary illnesses: Depression, AD(H)D.

Too much serotonin and norepinephrine in the brain? Let's administer an antidepressant! Zoloft! Prozac! Paxil! Problem identified, problem solved! Wait a sec... Think maybe the neurotransmitters aren't the cause, but a symptom? Being sad usually leads to depression. I know, I know: can't say that because it isn't treated with a drug.

And then there's kids with short attention spans and lots of energy. Does that mean what I think it does? Recent studies show that children under the age of 21 all have attention disorders! Human nature is now an illness.

You know, I should keep a cool head, but I'm sick of reading this kind of shit. FUCK YOU.

Major Depression is not an "imaginary disease". It might be an overdiagnosed disease, but it is not fucking imaginary. I also think that AD(H)D is also an overdiagnosed condition, but I think some people genuinely have it.

There is a big fucking difference between something being overdiagnosed and something being imaginary.

Don't try to tell me that the condition I've been suffering from for 5+ years is "imaginary". Don't try to tell me that it's something I've done to myself by "being sad". Don't try to tell me I'm just on drugs cause I'm weak or something. Fuck you.

I've seen psychiatrists and psychologists for my condition and many many doctors over the years. I've been diagnosed with "Major Depression of moderate severity" caused by multiple rapes, abuse, harassment, stalking and the death of family members. I've actively tried not to be on medication, only to see my condition rapidly decline into suicidal thinking and an inability to function. You think this is all imaginary? Again, FUCK YOU.
