Yeah, that'll happen. I don't think it has much to do with age, though.

It might, as teenagers don't have a fully developed prefrontal cortex yet, making them prone to be more impulsive, emotionally volatile and less likely to consider things long term.

That could certainly have an impact upon how one feels about others.

Take a 15-year-old who has been taking care of his schizophrenic mother after the death of his father. You'll quickly find that maturity and long-term considerations have little to do with the condition of the prefrontal cortex.

The connections formed in the prefrontal cortex are formed by the tasks you do. These connections are formed mainly in adolescence, although the prefrontal cortex does not stop developing until age 25.

A young carer would have to repeatedly perform tasks that require maturity and planning, and so these connections would be formed earlier, and solidified earlier than the same skillsets in adolescents that are not carers.

Wait that actually explains many things...

Yes, that means until the age of 25 your brain is still developing.

Erm, Taryn... thanks. Ever since we had to do that song one year in elementary school and totally butchered it, I can't stand it.

I'm already up and dead tired since I had to get up EARLY for Christmas Mass. Why did it have to be at 10:30?

They shouldn't do that to good songs

I got a copy of that song on Vinyl now

You seem to be referring to binge drinking.

Having a drink or two is not a bad thing. Binge Drinking is the problem.

No, it's not snowing. It is hot and dry. I pulled the blinds down outside to stop the heat getting in so much.

I'd hate to live where you are when sticks fall from the sky.

That would mess up my blinds.

Well, it's all over with for another year, and it's back to bloody work for me. Not that there's a lot going on. I've answered one phone call and dealt with some emails.

There are carpet cleaners here and they are making a lot of noise and making the carpet stinky.

I have been playing Red Alert 2. I was playing Minesweeper last week and it sucked so I bought RE2 in. :3
