I usually use the default names (or "Ben" if there is no default), but on rare occasions when playing together with my best friend, we'd name the characters after people we both knew--usually, people who had similar personalities to the characters or who looked like them. I just got done playing Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. I didn't bother getting 200.6%--I find the game sort of depressing to play through anymore for some reason. It's still a really good game regardless. I'm also finishing up a 120-star run of Super Mario 64 for some reason--I have 98 stars so far. I was going through my N64 ROMs and saw the save file and was like "why the hell not". My friend made me play it earlier this year. I told him this little story about how I couldn't beat the penguin on the slide when I was young, and he was convinced that I still couldn't beat him. I proved him wrong. Jerk. Also, since somebody I know from EL brought it up, I'm playing Aria of Sorrow for the first time (seriously!) and he's playing SotN for the first time in response. I haven't really made it that far into it yet... at least, I don't think I have. --------------------

Voted 3. I've been depressed all year and have almost entirely lost anything resembling motivation. My closest friends have drifted away from me and my other group of semi-friends has been acting bitter all year. I cannot name a single truly positive experience I've had this year. I can only name one worse year I've had, really, and even then I'm not too sure about that one. I suppose this year could be worse, but I'd rather not dwell on that. --------------------

	I hate grinding and avoid doing it unless I absolutely have to. Grinding can turn otherwise fun games into absolute chores. It's one of the main reasons I don't play very many RPGs. It's also why I gave up on Maple Story after a day. --------------------

My best year was 2003 because I was actually active that year. I dunno how to explain it really, except that I was actually getting out of the house and enjoying myself. And it was relatively drama-free! Normally I usually have some sort of drama stint at least once at some point in the year--either my parents fight or people I know fight, but that didn't actually end up happening all of that year. ...Also, I joined most of my first online communities in 2003, although that's mostly unrelated. Worst was 1996, although this one is close, but you said not to mention it because it's not over, so... Anyway, most of the year wasn't too bad, honestly (my sister was born, but I hardly remember that for some reason). The really crappy part was when I stayed at my grandparents'--there was a lot of familial drama then and my parents were fighting a lot. Not to mention my Dad's family consists of mostly pretty miserable people... and then there was church, and then I ended up having a nervous breakdown in the middle of school once because all of the bullshit was weighing down on me... And other stuff. I won't go into detail. I hate thinking about most of it, really. --------------------
