"Phew. Good thing we got rid of these things quickly."

With the monsters gone, Sophie focused on the big block that really was too big to be not noticed.

"Hmm.. A bomb, you say, Pandaren? ... Yeah, that could work."

"..."

"Oh, wait, right! I still have that bomb from earlier!"

Sophie tried to light the fuse on her bomb, then set it to the block on square 18 and quickly covered her ears.

For a long time, it has been .
In 2007 it shifted to . I don't know why it changed, but by now I love (or ) and find to be boring most of the time.

I remember my SNES power cable being broken at some point (the cable actually detached from the brick thing you plug into the outlet, somehow), and that I then used the power cable of my NES for the SNES, and it actually worked.

It's been years, though, so I'm not certain about it as well.

(Edited slightly, might've been a little confusing before, sorry)

I've always used tables, and I'm still using them (mostly though because I have no clue how to do it otherwise )

I don't have the means to install and test it out right now, but it looks like it's doing pretty good (a lot better than Vista, at least).. I'm already considering switching to it at some point. Or at least doing dual-boot together with XP or something.

My computer probably won't be able to handle it, but I was thinking about getting a better/more stable one by the time Windows 7 comes out anyway, so I might as well start saving up some time soon

Posted on 02-10-09 01:25:16 PM, in Do you use home/end/pageup/pagedown? Link
I use these keys a lot.
In editors or text fields like the one I'm writing in right now, I'm using Home/End to quickly get to the start/end of a row, or to quickly highlight a row (together with Shift).

In browsers or other things where I need to scroll down a lot, I'm often using all these keys to quickly navigate through the pages (because more often than never my hands are already on the keyboard and I'm way too lazy to reach for my mouse )

This. It's just so much faster than manually scrolling down.

Oh, and my keyboard still has SysRq, too.

It's really tempting to get a PS2.. there are quite a few games on it that interest me (around 13, more than the other consoles (Xbox/PS3 in particular) have), and the backwards compatibility to PS1 would be nice to have, too, since my PS1 is broken and I still have quite a few of these games.

They don't sell for much on Amazon and eBay, too.

Too bad I don't have the money for it right now, but if I'm getting a new console, it's definitely going to be this one.

All of these were pretty awesome. I still find myself remembering their theme songs every now and then, they were so catchy.

Too bad they don't get aired any more since a few years, at least not here in Germany...

Some day in November, my parents and I found out that you can order sweets online. (We weren't exactly baffled by this, of course, but we haven't ever done that before.)

We felt crazy at that time, so..

Two weeks later, this happened. Yes, we spent 77€ (that's $100) plus shipping just for a box full of candy.

The interesting thing was that this web-store (located in Germany of course) offers not only candy that we know from our country, but also international ones. :3 Some of these aren't sold anywhere else around here, at least not from what I know, so I've never seen or had them before.

(Of course, by now (2 months later), nothing's left. Burp.)

Speaking of, I was wondering, what Wii game do you guys think is the most enjoyable to play online?

I didn't have such a great time with Brawl online (the reasons are probably obvious), but I had (and sometimes still have) a blast with Mario Kart. It's just too much fun racing and/or battling against others, and there also isn't any "button lag" like in Brawl, too.

Now, I'm not the best racer (got barely over 7000 WFC rating in Versus), but I'm enjoying it a lot. I already got over 5000 WFC wins (at least I got the reward for it not too long ago)

Actually, the game was released in Europe two weeks before it was in North America

Still, I know what you mean; sometimes I have sessions where I race against people around my skill level, and suddenly 3-5 people, each with three stars and 9000-9999 rating join. Needless to say, we all get vaporized by them.

"Huh.. a key?"

After Sophie was done looking at the small shiny thing she found in the block's remains, she quickly put it into her pocket.

"I wonder what these are used for..? You already found one of these earlier, didn't you, Reimu?"

Confused, Sophie wandered over to square 10, while scratching her head... Also, she opened the Mystery she bought earlier.

I got an award That's awesome!

I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing to win #2 Most Reclusive (it was obvious that Acmlm would be #1), but it's definitely sweet to see that people were even thinking of me..
So yeah, thanks for the votes, and also congratulations to everyone else.

Also, the trophy idea is really neat. .

Posted on 02-12-09 12:49:56 PM, in Best IM protocol? (last edited by Dr. Sophie at 02-12-09 09:51 AM) Link
The only "real" IM I use is Skype, and I use it so rarely that I can't really say that I use it, or something.. I don't like IMs in general, I think.

Aside from that, all the people I need to contact (2) are in IRC.

I've been using ICQ and MSN in the past, though, and I liked MSN a bit better than ICQ.
