I was hoping this board would be more active, but oh well. Here goes

I'm trying to do some translation for 8 Eyes and have hit a roadblock

The phrase in question is このつるぎをやろう、 きっとやくにたつぞ。


I'm 95% certain the second half reads きっとやくにたつぞ 'kitto yaku ni tatsu zo' "surely it will be useful."
It's the first half that has me stumped. I know that it refers to collecting the sword, but the term やろう 'yarou' is giving me trouble.
Best I can figure is it means "I guess" or "I suppose", but it also means "guy" "buddy" "jerk" and "bastard". yeah, okay... maybe they meant to say やる 'yaru' which means "to give" as in "You have been given this sword"

I'd also very much appreciate if someone could translate the ending. For the sake of convenience I have condensed it into a single image:

Thanks, I figured it was something to that effect.

I guess it doesn't "need" to be translated, but I'm covering the version differences and it would be nice to see what changes may have been made from the original ending. I've already put all 4(!!) endings on the game's page so having a translation of the Japanese version is me just trying to be thorough.
