That Death Egg Zone track... I tried using that in a hack a few months ago, when I was playing around with AddMusic, and there were problems with it. Whenever I hit a ? Block, all but one of the percussion tracks would turn off until the music looped. Did you know about that bug?

I really liked the Mystic Cave theme. You did a great job on that. I mean you did good on all of them, but that one in particular stood out more as being well done.

On a side note, the music for Boothoven's Fort in Keytastrophe RULES. I had that playing over and over in my head as I designed the cave level for my own hack. That would be a great SPC to have so I could listen to it while I work on my hack... I've been making do with MP3s of random games (the one I listen to depends on my mood at the time).

Are you, like, an Asperger or something? You're so good with music it wouldn't surprise me... (Being called an Asperger is a compliment, by the way, not a negative thing like most people think.)

Anyway, I hope to hear more from you. Seriously, hearing your works of audio art is in some ways more wonderful than screenshots and videos. I don't imagine you take requests, but if you do, Ristar had some pretty awesome music...

The first one. Thanks for linking me... I'm listening to it right now.

Any ramifications to the Midis? I have several, but they're all pretty complex, with lots of instruments and effects... If you need me to find you a simpler one, let me know.

Eh, I'll PM you later... *goes to check YouTube account*

Actually I was planning on either re-doing the Fryguy from scratch, or scrapping it altogether in exchange for another custom boss. It's just... not very good is all...

Since you're all pretty much tired of my videos, I have some ordinary screenshots of my newer stuff. The first one shows my Ice World submap, the second is showing off my 3-hour-plus, completely-hand-ripped Sonic 3 Ice Cap Zone ExGfx.

Yeah, I know the ice sheets in the water in the background aren't there... I didn't have enough room in the sprite banks for those tiles. I still think this is pretty good. And yes, I do plan on making it available to the public at some point.

Dude... That BG is effing fantastic. No questions. Wonderful job.

I should seriously post the ExGfx files for my Sonic the Hedgehog rips... Dust Hill, Ice Cap, Launch Base... And I'll need more later... Whew... But I might just use these graphics you ripped for SMTI. We'll see.

You gonna put that up on SMWC? Go for it, I say.

AHAHA, Chuck Norris plays basketball... XD Gah, I was so close to thinking of a funny basketball-related Chuck Norris Fact, but I lost it... Anyway, that looks awesome.

Here, I'm showing another video, only because it has a new custom sprite I designed. Introducing the Pelican Brother.

<object width="425" height="355"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/KwpemCNMOqE&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

He'll soon be available on SMWC's database for everyone to use.

Wow, that's awesome. So this editor would do to an F-Zero SNES Rom what Lunar Magic does to a SMW Rom, though to a slightly lesser extent? Seriously, you're my hero... It takes a programming genius to be able to reconfigure the game engine like that. I'm not sure if F-Zero is harder to do that on than SMW or not, but either way it's an amazing accomplishment.

I've never played F-Zero... When this editor is released and/or reaches a stable version, I might have to play it just so I can hack it with this editor. :o

Well, I'm rambling again... Here's hoping this turns out to be quite a successful project. --Schwa

I actually don't like the Exodome one as much as your others. I guess I would find it more enjoyable if I were playing a level with this music rather than just listening to it... What kind of levels are you using this with?

The Jeopardy-theme bonus room is awesome. I saw on SMWC you said it took you forever to synchronize it correctly... so that means I assume you used a custom sprite with a timer that warps you out when the timer runs out? It would've probably been easier, I think, to have the music never loop, then scrap the sprite timer, and just have it check $1DFB every frame to see if it's 00 (no music), and warp Mario if it is, otherwise do nothing and just RTS.

The only problem I see about that sprite is that I'm not sure if $1DFB resets to 00 if the non-looping music ends. If that's the case, my above idea would not work at all.

Just one, for now. However, from listening to it myself, I feel it suits the level perfectly.

In regards to the 1DFB idea, I don't really think that would work out too well. The timer actually uses a very little amount of code as-is, so for now, I'll probably just stick with that. I already went through the pain of syncing it, so yeah

I see. 'Cause I was gonna say, my idea would've been usable in any level no matter how long the music was...

But then Mattrizzle comes along with THAT piece of info. So I guess my idea wouldn't work at all anyway. Yay for irony. XD

One thing I noticed was that a lot of your songs are mellow, as opposed to action-y. The honest truth is, I used to not like that style of songs in games, until I listened to some of your tracks. :O

I should try making a song for SMW sometime...

Well, you already heard my comments on Exodome... I love Mute City though. It wouldn't fit in your hack, but that doesn't mean it's not an awesome conversion.

Here, I'll post a video now since it's been so long since I posted at this site. It's just some ASM I'm showing off... I've designed the Fire Boots, Ice Skates, Suction Shoes and Force Floors from Chip's Challenge for SMW.

<object width="425" height="355"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/RGsYOctfFoE" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

On a side note, does anyone have any suggestions for up to 5 other "pseudo-powerups" like the three Boot powerups I have here? They can be Chip's Challenge-related or not, it doesn't matter too much.

(to SNN) That's a pretty cool background. You gonna use Pal Animation to give it a flourescent glowing effect? I say go for it.

(to others) Thanks for the enthusiastic comments... I have all the powerups I've decided to make. There will be 8 of them-- these three, plus the Spike Boots which allow you to break certain blocks with a spin jump (and not otherwise), the Wing Boots which either give you a double jump or a higher jump (double jump if I can get it to work, otherwise high jump), the Dash Boots which boost your max running speed, then two new items called the Blast Grimore (you can summon a stunned Bob-Omb in your hands by ducking and pressing X) and the Screw Attack (all jumps are Spin Jumps on the way up and normal jumps on the way down, and you gain Star Invincibility whenever you're spinning).

I'll post another video when I get the other 5 working. It's not too hard to code for the most part, but there have been some puzzles.

P.S. Oh, I'm also working on a new sprite: a Super Mario Land enemy called the Pionpi; he's that jumping enemy from w4-1 that could be stomped infinite times but died from two Superball hits. The sprite is a joint effort with one of my beta testers-- he did all the graphics, I'm doing all the ASM, and we're each sharing half the credit. It's pretty awesome.

The other four aren't based on Chip's Challenge at all... they are the Spike Boots (for drilling through certain blocks), the Dash Boots (increases max running speed), the Wing Boots (lets you double-jump) and the Screw Attack (straight from Metroid, you'll see what it does).

Thankz for the commentz.

Well, if you don't like the sound effects, that part is easy to change in the code for both the Screw Attack and Dash ability... You can just remove the sound effect code altogether, or change the LDA #$-- to the number for the sound you'd rather have instead. I document all my code thuroughly, so people can tweak it however they'd like with optimal efficiency.

Oh yeah, by the way, my powerups are all for download at SMWC. I'll release them here too: Booyah!

I'm currently working on new features that use the items such as Red Triangle blocks that only let you run up the walls while dashing with the Dash Boots, water you can dash along the surface of with the Dash Boots like in Sonic 3's Hydrocity Zone, a variation of the Spiny that can be OHKO'd with a Spike Boot spin jump, and more. You'll get another video when that time comes, don't worry...

Fantastic level, GY. It had an extremely unique feel. Nice touch with the background in the second half, by the way. You used the BG palettes well.

Poochy seemed a bit... I dunno, I didn't like having Poochy being guided through the mushroom zigzag. There's not much you can do to change it without drastically affecting the level design though... Ah well. Though that flower you need Poochy to get was awesome, I'll say that.

The pillars that lower when you hit the ?-Cloud... Were those hard to get to work right? They seemed like they would be.

All in all, awesome stuff. I loved this more than your other YI hack videos. Show us more, hopefully from World 5 next time!

Or actually, hold the phone. I'd love to see what one of your fortress levels looks like...

EEEP the thing has a double-attack!

Wonderful work, Peardian. It's been a while since I commented on your comic... Looks like it's coming along nicely, though slow, but it's not like anyone's in a hurry or anything...

What fate awaits our three heroes next? I can only wonder!

Hey guys. Nice looking stuff, as usual. I especially like Green-Kirby's Metroid material (and yes I recognize the graphics ) and AlexAR's... (Haha, is that a Kid Irceus hack with SMB2 graphics or the other way around? )

I have some stuff of my own to show. Yes, SMW of course-- hope most of you don't mind too much.

It takes some talent to make a creative Level C5 (or 1C5) in SMW (C5 is the Intro Level, for those who don't know... "Welcome! This is Dinosaur Land. In this strange land etc. etc."), but I think I pulled it off quite nicely. Here's the video.
<object width="425" height="344"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/vGghmvthmZA&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

But, it is already outdated. So I'll show you the fun changes with screenshots...

Here's where the first pipe used to be, and yes the background is different, and bright. The brightness is a side effect of the feature I added though.

So okay, no pipe? Alrighty. Keep going, and...

Ahaaaa. Maybe this will help. Bring it back, hit it, and...

HA. There WAS a pipe there. And also the background lights up an electric silver. Note that no ASM whatsoever was used to get this to work; just some fancy ExAnimation tactics, really.

After all, we can still do this...

But don't tell anyone. XD

Oh, and there's more, don't worry. Bring the Blue POW over to the end, where you need to bring it anyway...

Yay, the door appeared, but... I kinda wanted the fire flower that just fell from the ceiling too... XD I'll likely change this to a Mushroom though, as technically you can keep pipe-looping to get two Fire Flowers stored up.

I hope these are okay. Nice to see you all again. I'll try to remember to show something here every so often, though I mostly have just been lurking around SMWC, and updating my new blog occasionally.
