I've been bouncing back and forth between Fallout New Vegas and OneShot recently.

FNV is interesting compared to FO3. The map doesn't feel as friendly to explore as FO3 (kinda railroaded and full of Deathclaws if you look the wrong way), but I really appreciate that the world actually feels lived in instead of being full of bombed out isolationists. There's a lot more people to talk to in it and a lot more choices to make, and I like that.

I just bought OneShot recently and I'm a decent ways through I think? I like it. Niko is a cute cat kid. I know this story's going somewhere, and I like what I've gotten so far.

I once got my Minecraft account stolen by a Russian. I was resisting changing my account to the new email login, so my account was stuck with my really old really insecure password. Thankfully Mojang support was super cool about it but egh. Yeah.

Also, I recently learned that the address for one of my old email accounts is constantly used by spambots. They don't have my email account, they just sign up for everything and make spam posts everywhere. Good thing I stopped using that because it's probably blacklisted from everywhere now.

I'd guess it has the same "energy signature" or whatever but it's nowhere near as powerful. like pretending a metal cylinder with some paint on it is the same as a AA battery, i guess

An old classic. Fun fact, the creator is still active on Twitter.

I tend to jump back and forth between them. The absolute most important thing for me a Vim keybindings mode. If it has that, I'll use whatever really.

On Windows, I tend to use VS Code for projects. It's a little too heavy for casual file editing, but for programming it's pretty nice. It's got all the Intellisense and debugger support I'd want. Besides that, I absolutely love the simplicity of plain ol' Notepad for making notes and just getting ideas down. I used to use Notepad++ a lot, although I've been using it a lot less lately now that VS Code exists and Notepad supports UNIX-style line endings. It's still useful sometimes, though.

On Linux, I tend to use just straight-up Vim or KWrite/Kate/KDevelop. I like the KDE editors because, well, Vim keybindings, but also they have a very nice interface with nice syntax highlighting and integration with KDE, my preferred distro. Special shout-outs to KDevelop, which is more of an IDE but it's fantastic for C/C++ programming.

my netgroup is https://park-city.club because "parkcity.club" was, um,

i don't have $1,800 for a domain name so hypen it is.

"parkcity.garden" was also interesting but that's $26/year and, eh? it's a cute domain name but is it that cute? maybe if we grow a bit more.

i did also kinda wanna snag "inviz.biz" for my personal site but someone had to snag that up in 2017. grumble grumble.

I'm just going to pretend Twitter is dead forever. I'm totally gonna be back in it in two days but I honestly need to kick the habit.

I'm not sure if anyone has watched The Social Dilemma , but it's a documentary about how social media became... this.

Also, gonna plug my recent article on the matter because that feels relevant.

This just in: the federal government is run by out of touch hobknockers and we really should strive for a society where they don't matter this damn much for our daily lives. (imo, of course)

I dislike Vim-the-editor because I am extremely tired of terminals in general, but I love Vim-the-keybindings. On Linux I use Kwrite or Kate with Vim mode, and on Windows I usually just use VS Code. Well, I do on Linux too, but only for things that really need it. And on Windows I instead use Notepad++ as my quick-and-dirty editor.

Wow this reply is a pile of spaghetti.

If I had more desk space, I'd love to get a mechanical keyboard. I used to have a sweet IBM Model M2, but that died of capacitor plague a while back. Not sure if I want another buckling spring or something else. I might order one of those switch sampler boards just to see. ...and to have a cool fidget toy.

It has been a very long time since I've read a book, and I kinda want to get back into that. Throw your faves here. Webcomics too, any literature really.

Kirby's Air Ride but the tracks are scales up to be twice as big to make them less cramped.

I'll admit, I like having this place be active like this. If anything, we should all post more. Not like this much more but you know. More than I normally do, once a month or whatever.

Hello fellow anarchist!

I really dislike that at this point the Constitution has basically become some holy document, subject to constant reinterpretation like the Bible. Even though it's a constitution. It can and should be changed regularly as the needs of the nation change. We shouldn't be hemming and hawing about what guys in the 1700s really meant.
