Yea, I'll bite. I haven't done one of these in forever anyways and it'd be a good way to kill time on an otherwise dead day at the office.

Yea but the True Arenas are always built to be hellbent on the challenge. All the Kirby games are for 100% completion. I'm more about actually getting to the end of the game than I am about said completion.

Only two I know I've done 100% on are Kirby's DL2 and Kirby's Adventure on the GBA. Haven't bothered with the rest of them and a good portion of them I haven't even hit final boss beat (yet).

At least the music is always on point no matter if I've beaten it or not.

Yea I started digging through there and there's a big difference between H1 and H2 (Nickel and Copper).

I don't, but that's not stopped me from playing it.

Besides, they didn't really get to Arle having a personality until Sega took hold of her. In the localizations, anyways. JP she had plenty but we didn't get the vast majority of that content.

Wouldn't have tapped social media whatsoever had it not been for Four Job Fiesta requiring it.

Then the rest just kinda fell into play as time went on.

(this could be obvious, but i'm oblivious)

People tracking me down in Discord, mostly. I'm on other servers that share users similar to the one for Jul. I gave it a shot originally but the Discord experience back in 2018 was rough and I pretty much gave it up after the fact. Got tracked down yet again by Kak earlier this past year and gave it another shot.

Oh back in 2002? Golly...

So quite a bit but mostly Ace himself is to blame for that one. See, he had a website that was somewhat, sorta not really taken care of by the time I was emailing him off times that beat records on Strange Mario Bros., a hack he did back in the day, but I wasn't really getting anywhere with email replies because...reasons. I don't think it was an address he looked at all that much anymore so I basically tracked the forum down and registered.

Then saw there were a lot of like-minded people there...and most of them knew a hell of a lot more than me about damn near everything and when you're growing up awfully sheltered in a small, country settings, that opens worlds for you.

My father walked out the door and the family the day after I registered. The community support from then on is one of the mainstays of why I stuck around and would eventually pay back with the support I gave it, including the tenure I did for staff.

Oh you know now that I think about it I did Kirby Super Star 100% but not KSSD due to failing at the final four of the True Arena. Usually by Marx because of being so worn out. I should really correct that one of these days.

But True Arena, in general, is somewhat of a meme status now. Even in non-Kirby games...

I was trading stories about OC lines being stupid fast back before it really was a thing so, honestly, it's really not that big of a deal for me. I just handled it as logical progression over time. Gigabit will be considered snail speed eventually when it was considered some sort of holy grail at a point.

Maybe not universally but something more down-to-Earth and closer to home for myself is getting fiber or high speed Internet to everywhere in this state. That's literally one of the major things I've been trying to do on the side with as much influence as I can. Best I've been able to accomplish on that front so far is this half of the city I live in due to a regularly recurring issue for the upstream that I mentioned in another thread and eventually got to talk to the lead of the ISP in this area which helped out plenty.

Reason I mention that is this state is so far behind in so many ways in that particular respect. At a point a few years ago, we were sitting at 9 Mbit for average downstream. The state started taking notice of that once the pandemic hit and now people here are starting to get an idea of why the technology is a bigger deal and why it's as such in general. Most people just assume it's a waste of their time and that has changed as time has gone on as the convenience gets shown to them.

Something more universal though? Not sure. I'm no futurist even though I might certain professors that talk about something like that on YT. Anything that can further humankind for the better and don't have their bottom line at the helm of their thoughts are probably worthy of a look.

Actually, just fixing the bottom line being the problem in general would be nice.

Somewhere between late spring and early summer. Usually my off-time from the job but easily the better time for temperatures and weather in general in the south to midwest region when I'm going to want to start traveling.

Which isn't that far off, actually.

I don't mind going back to IRC just to hold true to beliefs. Nothing wrong with that.

My father contracted some absolutely HEINOUS sinus infection or whereabouts right around the time I went with him to Lonoke to pick up a RAM 2500 Diesel for himself and of course I got it by proxy. He still has remnants of it. I went the route of flooding my nasal cavities with a neti pot and got over it within a couple weeks or so. I've still yet to convince him to do it because he's old and can't ever seem to take my advice unless it has something to with computers (and even then that's a stretch).
