Uhhhhh the one I did back in 2007 sported a Pentium D and a Biostar motherboard and, like, 2GB of RAM. I brought the graphics card and the hard drive I used and dumped XP on it. Cost about 300 bucks adding in case cost at the time and got me out of the Compaq 5000 Presario poverty that I was in. Not to say it was a great machine at all (it was terrible - 2009 was met with an AMD build once the motherboard EXPLODED).

Still have that Presario in storage, actually, but the machine would kick back BAD_POOL_CALLER BSODs quite often so I doubt it's very useful anymore.

Anymore my builds are the zombiefied versions of older builds that have met with modern parts since then. I've got data from 2003 in my main rig as it is and about seven or eight hard/solid state drives in it of varying capacities.

Earliest I would've tackled was DOS 3.3 and Windows 286/2.x on a Packard Bell 286. This was later changed to 5.0 and 3.0 respectively and allowed full use of the 40MB hard drive I had in the unit (DOS 3's limitation was 32MB partitions, at the time).

Game Freak made gen 8. Didn't have a lot of happy people about their decisions in general either. Lot of people have been unhappy with the games in general for a while now. Arceus is the first one I've seen in a while where the game's got genuine praise aside from people doing the usual and shitting on graphics.

Doubt they care. People keep spending money with Nintendo and they'll continue to do what they always have. Release certain things for four months with a forty dollar up-charge and then put it away in the vault for another ten years while teasing all the other IP they have. They're a business - they don't give a crap about your wants and as long as everyone else continues to buy and vote with their wallet that way it'll remain as such.
