It went back to "Your ad here" (in Canada) for a short time earlier today, I haven't seen that for a while ...
And now it's that tactical RPG / browser MMO again, but I'll take that over sex related ads anytime ![]() -------------------- |

When I try to view it in Firefox, it loads the first frame then instantly vanishes
Internet Explorer 6 does slightly better, showing the first frame without disappearing ...But it works fine in Opera ![]() -------------------- |

ICQ still exists, as far as I know
Even imood is still up, apparently (that was a fad for a while in 2001) ... I'm more surprised there was no MSN field ![]() Of course, updating it to include newer common services wouldn't hurt either ![]() -------------------- |

<<z>b><<z>i><<z>u> never confused me when I learned HTML, since I was already familiarized enough with [B][i][u] buttons in programs like Word
![]() If they really have to make it longer just to be "more readable", <<z>bold> and <<z>italic> would make more sense than remembering <<z>em> means emphasis (which in turn makes text italic), unless you're actually supposed to change <<z>strong> and <<z>em> with CSS ... <<z>u>'s recommended replacement is even worse, since it's CSS only and definitely not easier to read or learn (text-decoration:underline) ![]() I never knew about <<z>q>, <<z>dfn> and <<z>address> either, but I wonder why 2 of them look the same as <<z>i> ![]() -------------------- |

Mine definitely feels closer to those old keyboards than flat ones, although it's not exactly old (maybe 2 years), doesn't look old, and isn't that noisy
I still have the keyboard from my old Pentium 200MHz (much more like those old ones), but its plug won't fit into any newer computer I got since then ...I at least like it better than the new ones we recently got at work, which: - are wireless (works fine but needs batteries) - have thin flat keys (makes me hit adjacent keys a lot more, enough to slow me down) - moved the Insert, Delete, etc. keys around (so now I often mess up, get used to them a bit, then get lost again when I'm back to my "normal" keyboard at home) - replaced the menu key with a Fn key, and moved the menu key (which I often use) to Fn+PrintScreen, which is where ScrollLock would be - have no indicator at all for CapsLock and NumLock (that's shown on screen after installing their driver, which at least lets me remap some keys or special functions) - can't auto-repeat multiple keys at once (unlike the older one and mine here) Both keyboards are from Logitech, too ![]() -------------------- |

Google Translate (or another translator) + spelling errors, not a good mix
![]() dessu -> dessus -> above jaimerais -> j'aimerais -> I'd like But even after fixing that, it doesn't really make sense My best guess is that he's trying to make some objects solid so Mario can walk over them ...-------------------- |

I didn't notice, mostly because it's not even shown in the custom sidebar ... but it did just happen before the thread was posted, and it's getting closer to my old level 253
![]() And there's no level limit, at least not before you hit the post/time limits ![]() -------------------- |

I have Internet Explorer 6, on a nice quad core from 2009
But that's because I don't use it, and would rather stay on Windows XP than move on to Vista or 7 ...Firefox 3.5.16 here (3.6 at work, and I'll probably update it to 4.0 once it comes out), and Opera 10.53 as a second browser (but rarely used) ![]() -------------------- |

Reminds me when I replaced some of XP's files with 2000's, but not a lot of them worked
![]() Windows XP for me as well, purely by choice (this quad core could easily handle Windows Vista or 7, and the only old hardware I have that might not work is my webcam from 2001) ... although that's more from experience with Vista at work, Windows 7 looking mostly the same except the new taskbar, and me being used to XP after 8 years ![]() Of course, the XP I got to love after all this time has been tweaked quite a bit, and I'd be doing the same with Vista or 7, but there's still too many reasons not to update: - I always hated Vista's buggy/bloated/uncustomizable Explorer (I don't want the breadcrumbs, command bar or search box, why can't I disable them? And why is the filesize display still broken after 2 service packs?), and 7's doesn't look like much of an improvement ... sure, XP's defaults sucked too, but it could at least be changed to this - I don't want to infect my system with the winsxs virus (supposedly a "feature", but whatever), which tries to fix "DLL Hell" (when was it a problem on XP, again?) by introducing another hell, and eats gigabytes of disk space ... even though Vista seems to run fine with most of it gone (and more) - Aero does look better than Fisher-Price, but I use classic anyway ... and if I wanted a theme that bad, a custom one on XP would do the job as well (minus the transparency) - Most of the "new in Windows 7" features listed on microsoft.com (last I checked anyway) were things I can already do on XP or just don't care about - When I tried Windows 7 RC1 (not sure if that still happens with RTM or SP1), my desktop background was blurred a bit - I multitask on XP with under 1GB RAM usage most of the time, about what Windows 7 needs for the average startup (but I have 4GB anyway, and no use for more yet) I admit I haven't really given Windows 7 a chance yet (barely tried RC1 or used any computer running it), and it does have some real improvements, but I just don't have enough reasons yet ... maybe when I'll really need 64bit, or too much stuff drops XP support, or if my next computer (in a few more years?) can't run XP ![]() -------------------- |

![]() #59 ![]() That's from acmlm.rustedlogic.net, but I've used the same thing (with different colors) at work ... $PS2 stayed at the default "> " since I didn't even know about it ![]() My Windows command prompt is the default $p$g, or sometimes $g if I'm doing something in one directory and want to keep it short ... and I use a 6x8 font (yellow on blue like above), but had Press Start K for years before ![]() -------------------- |

Because it can't divide Canada into its provinces, and because "all of Canada" isn't accurate enough, I took a map of Canada and colorized it myself

This 189819 letter word has some nice pattern to it that compresses very well, if you take the time to do some string replaces:
And suddenly you get: A6W6343XGXserxisoleucine Doesn't look so bad now ![]() -------------------- |
