![]() #52 ![]() I have no shortage of floppies, even if I can't get any new ones But I don't really use them anymore either, except for looking back at old stuff or copying files to/from a computer without network access ...I still don't have a flash drive or external hard disk, I tend to use network shares or online storage for that ![]() -------------------- |

I can view it in Firefox without crashing, it's just extremely laggy ... but it's almost as bad in Opera, as well
![]() I'd check in Internet Explorer 6, but the auto IP ban won't let me ![]() -------------------- |

The top things I hate about Windows Vista (that Windows 7 doesn't seem to fix):
- Explorer's interface with screen waste that can't be removed, and bad/missing filesize display ... it's bad enough that I use an alternate explorer (or I'd run XP's if I could) - winsxs (more like winsuxs) and its thousands of long named folders, and tendency to grow and never clean up, only to "fix" a problem that was never really there on XP - more bloat than ever, that you can't remove (or disable) without resetting file ownership and permissions or doing other crap - UAC, but I can disable that and forget about its existence And probably more I'm forgetting, but using Vista for 3 years at work still isn't pushing me away from XP anytime soon I don't feel any need for the newer features, or even 64bit yet (3.25GB RAM is still plenty for me) ...My computer would handle Vista's bloat (+ Aero) perfectly too, and Windows 7 even more, so it's not that ![]() I don't really know what I'll do once XP (or 32bit) is no longer widely supported (probably before 2014, I'd give it 1-2 more years) ... I'll either be stuck with limited/older programs, update to Windows 7 (or later) by force, or switch to something else, but hopefully there'll be a better reason to switch from XP by then ![]() -------------------- |

There's a few things coming up that won't run on XP (like Internet Explorer 9, not that I care though), and the usage share for Windows Vista/7/later will eventually (slowly) take over, but I guess it'll still take a while
![]() I know at least 2000/XP became a common requirement (over 98/ME) well before XP was 5 years old (Vista is already at 3), and now it's XP SP2 or SP3 ![]() -------------------- |

![]() #52 ![]() Having those new unreadable buttons on YouTube was bad enough, now I'm stuck with them on Google too ... and did they really need to make the text even bigger? (I feel like I have to zoom out now)The sidebar in search results is only going to waste screen space as well, but that's not so bad since there was plenty of empty space on the right ![]() -------------------- |

Unreadable on my dark color scheme (in Windows), since it sets a light background but no text color (defaults to white here) ...
For some reason, I still get an older layout when I try with Internet Explorer 6, so that (or IETab) might be an alternative, but it seems a bit silly and might not always work ![]() -------------------- |

Internet Explorer 9 won't run on XP either, and guess which OS still has more usage share than Windows Vista and 7 combined
Not that I really care, since I didn't even upgrade from Internet Explorer 6 (why bother if I don't use it) ...I'd hope it'll at least score well on Acid3 (55% isn't enough) by the time it's released, and won't suck as much to code HTML/CSS for ![]() -------------------- |

I actually tend to open a tab and type google.com just because I got used to it, even knowing it's not the fastest way
(Ctrl-T "goog" down Enter type search Enter)Except now I'll have to type "hl" instead, to use the older layout while it works ![]() -------------------- |

Sennheiser HD 555
A bit on the expensive side, but it's been almost 3 years and they still work great ![]() Older (cheaper) headphones I've had before always ended up with a dead side or broken cord within 1-2 years, and the wireless headphones I tried for another few years (2004-2007) didn't sound too good and had bad interference, so that's why I looked a bit higher (the better sound quality is nice too, but I'd barely notice)-------------------- |

- 1st reaction: uh, what changed
- 2nd reaction: ah, lighter borders and more of a Web 2.0 feel - 3rd reaction: hey, where did the search box go It's not that bad, except for the search box being unreadable (what's so hard about setting a damn text color if you set the background?) ... and I don't see a "Take me back" link anywhere, looks like I have to register and login just for that ![]() -------------------- |

I think it cost me $222, but it should be a little lower now ($169.95 US on the page I linked)
It's still nothing compared to the top priced ones there (HD 800), at $1399 ![]() -------------------- |

More points stuff as usual, but the carnation hats give +20% EXP (during the event only), so they could be worth getting whenever the next double EXP/pang comes up
![]() Player shops also reopened about a week ago, I just found out earlier this week while lurking in the forums But the prices are still quite a bit higher than before ...-------------------- |

It works great (stable 40fps) and uses less than 1% CPU here, with Firefox 3.5.9
(a bit higher in Opera 10.51 but still low)-------------------- |

It works because the messed up part of the URL isn't even used at all
(this works too)And yeah, putting random people doing stuff in pictures just because is a common trend for some reason ... or they're just happy because they got all the RAM and flash drives they need ![]() -------------------- |

![]() #52 ![]() MacOS 7.5.3, and it's really CP in that one ![]() -------------------- |
